June 23, 200620 yr On cold pizza they were ranking the top 5 NFL teams. Woody had the Fins as number 1. Saying culpepper is huge and that they won the last 6 games last year. Really thinks we'll be good. Skip has us at number 5. Only time will tell
June 23, 200620 yr The same Woody Paige who predicted the Heat would win the championship while everyone laughed at him and Skip Bayless predicted the Heat would lose in the second round.
June 23, 200620 yr Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile. Though to be fair, when compared to Skip Bayless Woody is a Mensa scholar.
June 23, 200620 yr No way the Fins are #1. Woody is known to make bold predictions here and there - but the Dolphins are a much improved, very good football team that will make some noise next season. At least the playoffs this year.
June 23, 200620 yr If Culpepper plays like he did prior to last year and not like he did last year they can be a very good team. I have serious doubts about Daunte's ability, but if he's the real deal they can win the East.
June 23, 200620 yr If Daunte plays better than Frerotten, which is extremely likely, I think we are nearly a lock for the playoffs and in serious contention for the AFC East crown. The Dolphins improved at every position save RB, however, the Patriots seemed to have taken a backward step.
June 23, 200620 yr The same Woody Paige who predicted the Heat would win the championship while everyone laughed at him and Skip Bayless predicted the Heat would lose in the second round. I remember that. Paige has got to be the most knowledgable out of all of the idiots on Cold Pizza and Around the Horn.
June 23, 200620 yr Woody must be running for mayor of Miami. Boog was ripping on Woody the other day when someone called in and suggested Woody should speak at the Heat parade. Boog said he was one of the 5 people he would least like to see at the parade. Not sure what that was all about. I think most journalist types look at Woody as a clown. He's kind of like the Emeril Lagasse of sports reporting. Also, the Fins are not #1, but with their schedule and talent they should make the playoffs.

The Dolphins improved at every position save RB, however, the Patriots seemed to have taken a backward step. I don't quite understand the notion that the Pats took a step backward just because they don't have any flashy offseason signings. Maroney was a hell of a pickup for them in the draft and is going to be great insurance in case Dillon can't stay healthy. They're still going to be a damn good team, albeit one with a tougher schedule than Miami. That being said, if Daunte plays like he did when Randy Moss was in Minnesota it might not even matter because a healthy Miami would probably be a better team regardless with the vintage Daunte. They'll just have to hope he doesn't lay his annual egg in the playoffs.
June 26, 200620 yr Woody has also said Mike Vick is one of the greatest QBs in NFL history and predicts the Falcons for the SB every year, as well as Vick being the league and SB MVP's.
June 26, 200620 yr LOL at power rankings before the season starts. Because they're less idiotic after the season starts?
June 26, 200620 yr Woody has also said Mike Vick is one of the greatest QBs in NFL history and predicts the Falcons for the SB every year, as well as Vick being the league and SB MVP's. he's got the talent to be a great QB, he's one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL at least in my opinion... btw...i got to meet daunte a couple of weeks ago at the dolphins training camp (my summer school class went)...he said hi and talked to us for a sec...he had a pretty bad limp though...
June 26, 200620 yr pats did take 2 hits, OLB and Kicker. but really their RB situation is improved, their O-line is solid. Their WR is about the same with their loss and pick up, TE about the same. Second perhaps a bit deeper. really they should be a good team again and the whole AFC East should be better.
