June 29, 200620 yr man, this offseason just keeps getting better and better.... :plain :banghead Veteran left winger Gary Roberts has asked the Panthers for a trade back to Toronto this off-season so he can be closer to his teenage daughter, Florida General Manager Mike Keenan confirmed Wednesday. Keenan said Roberts is concerned that his daughter Jordan, 16, who attends boarding school in Toronto, would be without supervision if he remains in Florida after Roberts' ex-wife Tammy recently moved to Calgary, where Roberts played for the Flames from 1986-96. can't blame him...but it's going to be another huge loss. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/panthers/cont...c_nhl_0629.html
June 29, 200620 yr Wtf? I can understand Gary's concern and I have no problem with it but this came out of no where.
June 29, 200620 yr hmmm you are making millions of dollars, suck it up. move her to a boarding school in florida then. There is better schools here anyways.
June 29, 200620 yr I agree...and his wife must be a real winner. What the hell is her problem? Running off to Calgary and leaving her daughter behind? :confused
June 29, 200620 yr hmmm you are making millions of dollars, suck it up. That's a pretty stupid way of looking at things.
June 29, 200620 yr I agree...and his wife must be a real winner. What the hell is her problem? Running off to Calgary and leaving her daughter behind? :confused Yeah. I really have no problem with Gary asking for a trade for this reason. Hopefully, Gary can come to a sound decision for him and his daughter. If it is to move her to a school down here in Florida so he can stay with the Cats, great. If it is to keep her in Toronto and play for the Maple Leafs, great. Family Loyalty>>All.
June 29, 200620 yr hmmm you are making millions of dollars, suck it up. move her to a boarding school in florida then. There is better schools here anyways. aparently not This is the best reason i've ever heard for asking for a trade. Hope everything works out for him

June 29, 200620 yr heheheh alright I concede the point most likely there is better schools up there. But, I also went to public school which is different then where his kids would go.
June 30, 200620 yr Sounds like an excuse to get off of this sinking ship known as the Panthers franchise.
June 30, 200620 yr Sounds like an excuse to get off of this sinking ship known as the Panthers franchise. Do you even watch hockey? The Panthers were right in the middle of the playoff race up until the last week of the season and for about a month towards the end of the season we were THE hottest team in the NHL. The trades which have been made have made us a better team overall and next season we will be pretty much expected to make the playoffs. What you said is like someone right now saying that the Marlins are a sinking ship, when all of us know that couldn't be any farther from the truth.

This is ridiculous. Tell Roberts to bring his daughter done here and have her go to school. The Panthers are paying him millions of dollars. I'm sure he can afford to send her to Pinecrest, American Heritage or North Broward Prep.
July 1, 200620 yr hmmm you are making millions of dollars, suck it up. move her to a boarding school in florida then. There is better schools here anyways. He won't make millions with Toronto? Besides, I'll bet there are more reasonable things he is concerned about other than money. the panthers are supposedly interested in getting Ed Belfour as a back up goalie Oh, please, God, no.
