See, with the Bengals, knowing the team and following them as much as I do, I coudln't bet on them, but I honestly don't know which way the team is going to go this year. There are THREE key factors, here.

 

1. Carson. When's he coming back and what form will he be in? If this guy comes back and is able to play at the level he played last year, then he will be contending once again for best QB of the league during the regular season. For a 2nd year starter his numbers were sick and our offense, with or without Chris Henry, shows no signs of slowing down. We have an elite offense. And the defense is slowly but surely going to catch up with Lewis at the helm.

 

2. The schedule. We have one of the hardest schedules in the league to overcome. Colts, New England, Washington, Kansas City not to mention the AFC North is just getting filthy with the Browns and Ravens set to rebound and the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

 

3. Off the field bulls***. We've had too many players getting in trouble and too many character issues. Chris Henry is an idiot and Odell Thurman is out for the first four games for missing a drug screening (how do you sleep in during a drug screening you have to take?). Anyways, this was Thurman's year to shine with Sam Adams giving him the space and matchups to start mauling some QBs and RBs. However, even with two of our draft picks, Thurman and probably Henry, missing a few games this team is still somewhat improved. David Pollack getting another year under his belt will be a good thing, we have Madieu Williams coming back from an injury and have upgraded at safety, as well as the addition of Sam Adams. Pollack is the special factor because last year, towards the end of the regular season he "got it" and started putting it all together and made a couple of special plays that could be a barometer of things to come. Once Odell Thurman gets back, I think we'll just be even better. Marvin Lewis is a master manipulator and we have fewer scouts and personel than any team in the league, it's his show to run and if ANYONE can overcome the crap we've had to overcome and motivate these guys it's him.

 

I think it could go one of two ways. We could either have the best record in the NFL period or end up 4th in the AFC North. There's little room for error, and with the talent we have and their mindset a little slip could easily turn into a big one (most of our guys are still kids and even though I don't like Marvin drafting headcases he's turned it into a plus before; but losses to a young team with the guys we have are devastating). I don't know what's going to happen. I'm just hoping Carson comes back at 100% (he's waaay ahead of the curve as far as healing, and he's going to be participating in training camp; there's rumblings he'll be back by the first or second regular season game). I'll just have to wait and see.

Easy money on the over for the Bears

Bills under 6.5 is a pretty good bet.

 

Other than that I like the Seahawks at over 10.5, Lions under 7, Chiefs over 9.5, and Packers under 6.5.

Pats only at 10 and a half.... I'd take the over for sure especially since they play 4 games with the Jets and Bills.

i just cant see the bears losing in the divsion again this year.. we've upgraded our special teams, defensive depth, QB and will have a strenghted run game and receiving corps (bradley).. but then again, im a homer so ya never know :mischief

Anyone here try not to bet on their team? I know I rarely bet on the jets because I am always biased.

I never bet on my team because I never win bets. And by never I mean NEVER. I win when I think about betting, or when I tell other people to bet. But I'm literally like 0-9 lifetime in sports betting. So, I know if I bet on my team, my team will lose...and I would feel very bad about possibly being the cause of that.
