July 31, 200619 yr http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5832906 Sanchez, 26, apparently was injured while riding as a passenger in a taxicab that was involved in a car accident Sunday night after the Mets landed in Miami. He returned to New York to undergo surgery on Monday. The Mets already had been looking for bullpen help, and their search intensified in the final hours before Monday's 4 p.m. non-waiver trade deadline. Mets GM Omar Minaya was on the phone early Monday morning contacting other clubs about relievers who might be available. Sanchez has been an integral part of the Mets' bullpen since arriving in a trade from the Dodgers for right-hander Jae Seo last off-season. In 49 appearances this season, he is 5-1 with a 2.60 ERA, and opposing hitters are batting only .223 against him.
July 31, 200619 yr Perfect timing for them to get raped by someone in a trade for bullpen help. Borowski for Millege? :o :mischief
July 31, 200619 yr Nice work by those Miami cab drivers.....although wouldn't David Wright have been more prudent??? :plain
July 31, 200619 yr I thnk the initial reports may have been a little hasty -- ESPN is reporting 4 to 6 weeks and expect him to be back by the playoffs.
July 31, 200619 yr Nice work by those Miami cab drivers.....although wouldn't David Wright have been more prudent??? :plain maybe Cabrera had something to do with this. :mischief2
August 1, 200619 yr That's what he got for being so Dirty... 22 straight IP with a 0 ERA.. It was too good to be true..
August 3, 200619 yr This is a huge hit for the Mets. This might be the reason why they dont go deep into the playoffs. Roberto Hernandez is not the answer for the Mets.
August 3, 200619 yr I want to know why he was out at 2am getting a bite to eat. I bet his hotel can get him anything he wants.
