Can the Phillies & Marlins challenge the Mets next year ?

Featured Replies

All 3 teams seem to loading up on talent. We seem to be getting all the best pitching and the other 2 a lot of offense. Which plan is better ? :confused

our offense is going to be real good, real soon

I sure hope so. Today is great, but more often than not we don't score many. We have scored the 5th lowest RBI's in MLB. If we could squeeze across 1 to 1.25 more runs per game we'd really be sitting pretty.

Hermida really needs to improve next year. I hate to blame all our woes on one guy, but if he had even had close to a good year we'd have won probably 10 more games and be the wildcard leaders.

I think we could this is gonna be a good division with Cabrera,Howard and Wright seems, like we could start a real rivalry that would bring more fans and Its something I'd like to see but you have to have two real good teams to make it a real good rivalry

the marlins have a plan to be very good for a very long time...the mets can buy most of their talent while producing some guys from the minors and the phillies...god only knows what they are doing...and remember...if not for the god awful start, we would be neck and neck with the muts...if the new stadium gets done...the marlins cred around baseball goes from mediocre to among the giant teams of the game

I think we have a good chance to stay scary and act as some pretty good spoilers but I don't know if we can actually reach the Playoffs. I think the Pen needs some fixing.

Right now I think if Players like Hanley and Uggla can be consistant, I think we will have a great offence. When Hanley hits, the offence does will because he sets himself up to score. I want him to perform like the hitter he was in April and May. another key thing mentioned was the need for olivo to stay. If he can stasy in the 280's+, I think the orginization will resign him and hopefully keep him into our future plans, he is only 1 year older the Danny Uggz and definatly a great producer. His defence has been improving thanks to Giardi's coaching staff too.

Pitching is key, I like our rotation now, it's balanced and deadley. Two lefties, an ace that can keep a low era in JJ, a stopper and game in Olsen, and a guy who improves and has great stuff in Nolasco. Anibal is showing great stuff and shows he can deal with pressure like how he pitched at Yankee and Dodger stadium. I also beleive Dontrelle might do a bit better next year considering he can have faith that this team can play hard. We need Messenger and Kensing to develop much faster and to see if Carlos Martinez is for real. I hope we can keep JoBo for another year and I think our bench is great with Ross, Borchard ( Lenny Harris 2:D ), Alf, and Helms( lenny Harris 3).

Shining I agree with most of your assesment. One more bat is what we really need -- either Hermida developes or we have to buy one. When that happens it could be real fun in the NL East for 3 or 4 years in a row.
