August 25, 200620 yr What are your Top 10 Sports Movies of All time? I want to come up with at least 16 favorites and have a tournament until we come up with the #1 sports movie of all time. Name your Top 10. My top 16: 1-Rudy (This movie couldn't have been written any better than it was) 2-The Natural (Roy Hobbs is the MAN!) 3-Pride of the Yankees (An all time great that doesn't get enough credit...Gary Cooper is the best actor ever) 4-Field of Dreams (great plot) 5-Rocky (Best boxing series ever) 6-Hoosiers (Best basketball movie ever) 7-Happy Gilmore (Best golfing movie ever? haha) 8-Caddyshack (Bill Murray...enough said) 9-A League of Their Own (Tom Hanks owns) 10-Major League (Hilarous series) 11-The Sandlot (Great story for kids) 12-Bull Durham (Good acting) 13-Cool Runnings (was a good true story and have to throw 1 Disney movie in there) 14-The Bad News Bears (the original) 15-Blue Chips (I don't know why but I liked this movie) 16-Jerry Maguire (A look at sports agents)

August 26, 200620 yr I really, really dislike the sports movie genre. Sports are exciting enough, we don't need fiction stories or fictionalized accounts of a real sporting event. But I do really enjoy Field of Dreams and Jerry Maguire. Oh and Sandlot. None of them really revolve around a "sporting event".

I couldn't get past the historical innacuracies in Field of Dreams I agree. I find it hard to believe that Ray Liotta was alive during the Sox scandal.
