August 26, 200620 yr i was one of the few cubs fans who felt that Dusty Baker deserved a second chance. It wasn't his fault everybody and their brother on the Cubs was getting hurt. It took me longer than most, but i finally realized why Dusty Baker is the stupidest manager in baseball. Dusty calls upon the "young and talented" Roberto Novoa to pitch the 9th inning of a one run game against the Cardinals. Meanwhile Ryan Dempster, the team's closer, sits in the pen and watches no name journeyman Gary Bennet hit a game winning single to center to score Ronnie Belliard, who stole second off Novoa. Right handed hitters bat .177 off Ryan Dempster, and .270 off Roberto. In other words, Dusty goes with one of "his boys" and the Cubs lose another one, 2-1. I wean what the heck even let Wuertz come in or something. Novoa is crap out there. :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
August 26, 200620 yr I thought it was a great move by Baker. i wanted the cards to win :lol If you go to the MLB.com cubs board, it will take you just 3 minutes to understand EVERY reason Dusty should be fired. Did you notice who was apart of Dusty's "crew" aswell? Did you ever wonder why Neifi, a bench player, get more playing time then the starting SS's and 2B's? Or why Macias, a TERRIBLE PH pinch hits for hitters that are on a hot streak in the middle of a game. I think Dusty should be more well known for why the Cubs Roation isn't G*dley made up of Prior,Wood,Zambrano, and Maddux. He kept having Prior and Wood go out there to pitch over their limits. Prior was only like 23 back in 03 and he had the kid pitching CG every chance he could fit. why does that guys seriously have a job? If you were to probably ask a Cubs fan that question they would probably reply with "why does Henry have a Job?"
August 26, 200620 yr yup. and he's the father of the stupidest batboy of all time. if that batboy didn't have that job, I would have a 2003 WS ring on my finger.

What? his son was the batboy for the giants in 2002. he ran out and almost interfered with a play at the plate J.T. snow had to grab him and toss him out of the way. after that even bud selig made a new rule regarding batboys they had to be at least 14. I had been hired to be the marlins batboy prior to this event (for the 2003 season) and then i had to be unhired as i was not old enough anymore. so if that hadn't happened i would of been the batboy for the 2003 season and beyond and obviously i'd have a world series ring on my finger right now. although i did get to do a game when i turned 14 last year..
August 26, 200620 yr When you are up by one in the 9th, you have a 95 percent chance of winning the game, regardless of who is out there.

August 26, 200620 yr Aside from all that madness, Dusty Baker is a moron. He doesn't trust rookies, even if they're lights out. Who in their right mind would keep a guy like Glendon Rusch in the rotation with arguably one of the deepest groups of minor league pitchers at AA last year. Every member of the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx rotation from last year has played in the bigs this year, and Dusty didn't want any of them.

So much talent but they waste rotation spots on bums. Jae kuk Ryu had one major league start and now they call him back up BUT Dusty wants a 29 year old journeyman by the name of Les Walrond to start. This guy was a non roster invitee for crying out loud. It's a shame that he doesn't trust these kids. Guys like Matt Murton played well but got benched. They'd rather have John Mabry out there who can barely maintain a .200 average. The Marlins and Orioles beat them up last offseason: Marlins get: Nolasco, Mitre, Pinto Cubs get: Pierre Orioles get: Corey Patterson Cubs get: Nate Spears (.250 at high A), Carlos Perez (24 yr old pitcher at high A) Perhaps this Walrond guy is one of "dusty's boys"

If you get a walk and put the pitcher in a stretch, that helps. But the guy who walks and can?t run, most of the time they?re clogging up the bases for somebody who can run. Who?s been the champions the last seven, eight years? Have you ever heard the Yankees talk about on-base percentage and walks? You ain?t going to walk across the plate. You?re going to hit across the plate. That?s the school I come from. It?s called hitting, and it ain?t called walking. Do you ever see the top 10 walking? You see top 10 batting average. A lot of those top 10 do walk. But the name of the game is to hit." Thats from spring training a few years back.

August 28, 200620 yr Author The guy is just stupid. They lost another one last night that Gary Bennet he's one of my new least favorite players. Then again perhaps the best managing job by Baker this year.
