Sanchez's ERA as a starter is like 2.00. He came out of the pen and got shelled for 4+ innings... It was pretty much just a poor start That's not a start. The game was already in hand. and he still got the crap kicked out of him.... whats your point Ramp? Why aren't Lohse's numbers counted all year. He's a #4-5 pitcher at BEST. On the Marlins, Micalak and Lohse would not even be in the rotation.

August 27, 200620 yr Author "Why is Loshe any different? One could argue Loshe actually has better stuff." Arroyo's career ERA in the minors 3.80 Lohse's career ERA in the minors 4.28 Arroyo's career ERA in the majors 4.59 Lohse's career ERA in the majors 4.72 Arroyo's career H/9 in majors 9.35 Lohse's career H/9 in majors 10.07 Arroyo's career K/9 in majors 5.61 Lohse's career K/9 in majors 5.49 Arroyo's career WHIP in majors 1.36 Lohse's career WHIP in majors 1.43 Please make that case that Lohse is better than Arroyo. AND THATS NOT EVEN COUNTING LOHSE'S BAD 2006 and ARROYO'S GOOD 2006.

August 27, 200620 yr Junior here are the stats: Cabs-.341 22 HR 96 RBI Edwin- .302 14 HR 67 RBI Hatteberg .311 13 HR 46 RBI Jacbos .271 17 HR 65 RBI cabs stats are waaaay better (waaaaay waaaaay waaay better) . hatteberg has played better than jake but I'd prefer to have jacobs. since that walkoff hit of his he's been much better (.300+) and jake with limited time is much better in the power department (and yes i know scott isn't a power hitter).
August 27, 200620 yr If Edwin had played all the games Cabs had their power numbers would look VERY similar.

Edwin: 298 ABs 14 homers 67 RBI 28 doubles Cabrera: 464 ABs 22 homers 96 RBIs 44 doubles AB per HR: Edwin- 21.3 Cabrera-21.1 AB per RBI: Edwin- 4.4 Cabrera- 4.8 AB per double: Edwin- 10.6 Cabrera- 10.5 Now lets average these out to 500 ABs. Edwin: 23 homers 114 RBIs 47 doubles Cabrera: 24 homers 104 RBIs 47 doubles Oh yeah, that's the funniest thing you have ever heard.

August 27, 200620 yr If Edwin had played all the games Cabs had their power numbers would look VERY similar. LOL....funniest thing I've ever heard. Surprisingly he could actually be right. Coming into today we had: Cabrera: 464 AB's 22 HR's 44 2B's Encarnacion: 298 AB's 14 HR's 28 2B's Now currently Encarnacion is homering about every 21 AB's and doubling about every 10 AB's, so if Encarnacion were to produce at his current rate and have the same number of AB's Cabs does their raw numbers actually would look similar. Take a look at the SLG% as well - it is also similar. Of course Encarnacion plays in an extreme hitter's park whereas Cabrera plays in a pitcher's park, so his numbers get a boost from that. Edit: looks like Junior beat me to pointing out another one of WMM's outlandish statements.

Your statement was about this year and how you found it crazy to say that Edwin and Cabs could have similar numbers. The actual statistics say otherwise.

August 27, 200620 yr Let's just stop the Edwin/Miguel comparisons please. We can look at a constant stat and solve the dilemma: Edwin OPS--.933 Cabrera OPS--1.016 And Miguel's average is almost 40 points higher.
August 27, 200620 yr Edwin's average is 40 points lower, his OBP is 40 points lower, and his slugging % is 40 points lower. Not to mention that his OPS drops by 122 points when he steps outside of the Great American Smallpark. Enough of this foolishness already.

I never said Edwin was better then Cabs, but to say Edwin is a "decent" player and will never be at that level is insane.
