September 8, 200620 yr Mike Hart? There's atleast 3 better RBs in the big ten. I should have added when healthy but still, he is easily the best RB in the Big Ten I agree. He is very underrated and underappreciated.
September 8, 200620 yr Easily the best RB in the Big Ten? Easily? Are you kidding me? Theres a guy in Northwestern and OSU that my disagree with that.. and I'd take my guy, Albert Young, over anyone in the big ten. AY is going to run for 1500 and get 40 receptions out of the backfield this year.. and then we get him again for another year. But I'm a homer and everyone takes their guy.
September 8, 200620 yr The most underrated RB in the nation is Yvenson Bernard of Oregon State. He can run, catch, and block. Rushed for over 1,300 yards last season, and should improve on those numbers.

Mike Hart, as a true freshman, had comparitive years to any of the backs you named and didn't even play much the first couple of weeks. Last year he was hurt but played well and who knows this year. He is a very good RB and I don't know why you and Passion have knocked him. While I'm not sure he is the best RB in the Big 10, I would have to say he certainly has a legit case.
September 8, 200620 yr Mike Hart? There's atleast 3 better RBs in the big ten. I should have added when healthy but still, he is easily the best RB in the Big Ten :lol Based on what, unseen performance? The 'coulda shoulda' stat? I guess the unseen perfomances that include 4 out of his 14 career games in which he has received double-digit carries that have resulted in rushing performances for over 200 yards (over 25% of the games) or 12 of the 14 in which he has topped 99+ yards (86%). But I guess those are the 'coulda shoulda stats'.
September 8, 200620 yr Last year he played in 8 games because of injury including such sparkling performances of 36 yards on 17 carries against Notre Dame, Iowa, and Ohio State combined . He also fizzled out in the bowl game with only 74 yards on 19 carries in a loss to Nebraska. Don't forget the Rose Bowl where he had 83 yards on 21 carries giving him averages of 78.5 yards on 20 carries. He had four touchdowns last year. But he is the best back in the Big 10? What a joke. Good use of percentages using only games in which he recieved double digit carries while not including the games in which he is shutdown or unable to perform. In 2004 he didn't show up against Notre Dame or Ohio State again rushing for 17 and 61 yards on 5 and 18 rushes respectively. He hasn't shown up for the biggest games and his 200+ rushing yard games come against a 3-8 Illinois game in '04 (wins against Florida A&M, Western Michigan, and Indiana), Purdue in '04 (Sub .500 in the Big 10), Michigan State in '04 (5-7 team), and then Michigan State again in '05 which I will say was a very good performance. As for the 100 yards games: 2004 San Diego State (4-7) Minnesota (7-5, 3-5 in Big 10, 3 wins against Toledo, Illinois State, Colorado State, went 2-5 in October) Northwestern (6-6) 2005 Nothern Illinois (7-5) Minnesota (7-5, 4-4 in Big 10, 3 wins against Tulsa, Colorado State, Florida Atlantic) Penn State (11-1, Good game) 2006 Vanderbilt (Not close to what they were last year) He's done it against middle of the pack Big 10 teams and 2, possibly three cupcakes. The Penn State game is the outlier and that was his lowest 99+ yard performance of his career. He was 13th in rushing, 20th in TDs, and 11th in recieving yards in the Big 10 in 2005. Hype. The guy is injured/banged up alot and is so much more hype then actual on field performance. He hasn't shown up against Ohio State or Notre Dame in his career and he has eaten up on the weaker teams on the schedule. His career has been built up on hype and potential yet he hasn't performed in the biggest games and mediocre in the post season. Another attempt by you to troll and pwn me that only succeedes in one way.
September 8, 200620 yr and we're going to anoint Albert Young better because of one season of good play???? Let's not get carried away....I'd take Garrett Wolfe more then AY.
September 8, 200620 yr I hope that response wasn't directed at me because I wasn't tooting AY's horn.
September 8, 200620 yr I hope that response wasn't directed at me because I wasn't tooting AY's horn. No it was at Iowa.....
September 8, 200620 yr I just think he's better.. no offence. I just to exception to the "easily the best RB in the big ten" comment
September 8, 200620 yr Author Adrian Peterson: 2004 -- 1925 yards, 15 TD's 2005 -- 1108 yards, 14 TD's 2006 -- on pace for 1700 yards and 15 TD's Garrett Wolfe: 2004: 1656 yards, 21 TD 2005: 1580 yards, 17 TD 2006: on pace for 2000 yds 14 TD Peterson tougher competition all season-long and also isn't the main weapon....Wolfe had to be the main weapon on NIU therefore more carries and yards.... Do me a favor. Check out how many games each guy started in 2004 and 2005. kthnxbye

Any non homer would take Adrian Peterson every single time over Garrett Wolfe

I wouldn't trade Wolfe for any other running back in America.
September 8, 200620 yr Author I really can't wait until Wolfe comes to Kinnick in October. Just curious, what do you think he will do against you?
September 8, 200620 yr I really don't think anyone can run on us consistently. There's a difference between playing a team who is replacing 9 starters in the first game of the season and playing a team with one of the best DLines in the country 8 games in.. a team who historically gets better as the season goes on. He'll be lucky to break 70.

September 9, 200620 yr Cut FeLo some slack. There's no denying Wolfe is a great back. There is also no denying that Peterson plays in a much better conference. And even though it was the first game of the year, you cant even take away what Wolfe did against tOSU. He could be a day 1 pick. But I doubt Wolfe will ever be a consistent starter in the NFL. A very good #2 back though. AP will be drafted to be someones feature back in the very near future though. And honestly, his homerism isnt even that bad. I myself want Wolfe AND Doug Free on the Panthers. Wolfe so Gamble doesnt have to be on the return team any more. Free because IMO he is a future pro bowler on the OL. And you want homerism? Listen to my SIU rants. No one on this site has got anything on me when compared to my loyalty and pimping of the maroon and black. I am man enough to admit that.
September 9, 200620 yr Author I'm not talking about his game translating to the NFL. I have no idea if it will or not, but he is one of the best running backs in the nation.
