Fish win tonight and then sweep the Phillies. We're looking at possibly being two games behind LA and half a game behind Philly. Fish would be coming home to face Cincy and Philly again. I know SF and LA play each other at the end of the season so that's gonna be tough because they will probably just knock each other out. We would need Arizona to get hot since they play LA and SF.

Do you guys think it's possible? I know it seems like the WC is out of our hands, but we are playing the teams we need to play to hold off Cincy and surpass Philly.

WC is done dude, never say never.

But the white flag was pretty much tossed up. In atlanta they really ended it honestly, on the same day it ended last year.

We just went from 5.5 out to 4 out in one day. Anything is possible. (And the odds are a lot better now than they were on May 21st.)

If you want to keep torturing yourselves then have at it.

Ive already begun the mourning process and have begun looking forward to next season.

just win baby

There is absolutely nothing to mourn this season, and while somewhat unfulfilling this last week, we have had a marvelous season beyond our wildest expectations. We could be sitting here praying for a win streak to keep us below a hundred losses this season, instead, however slim, we are still competing for something.

This season is a success, regardless of whether we win another game this month.

:hat i've conceeded that we're out of the playoff chase.

either way,we had a breakthrough season.be happy with that.

go marlins in 2007

flip. flop?

WC is done dude, never say never. But, the white flag was pretty much tossed up.

could it happen? Yes

Is there a 99.9% it wont happen? Yes

Is 500 a successful season for us this year? Yes

Next year will we have a good shot at the WC? Yes

We win those 2 in atlanta it is a different story but that 4 game slide killed us.

I'm happy as hell that the team made it as far as they did, but now I think it's probably more realistic to target a winning record (and make it 4 straight seasons).

Just Win if it happens it happens, it most likely won't so i won't get my hopes up right now, but tonight at midnight i'll be looking at the SD and LA scores anyways...and maybe if we get some luck this weekend i'll change my tune but right now. I would just like to see the team finish strong and look good going into the off season.

I'm done worrying about the WC. Not saying I won't check or that it's impossible, but for now I just want the team to win games. All of them if possible, but at least Sat & Sun this week when I am in Philly.

Really can't hold our breath though with the collapse of our bullpen (which was never all that good anyway) and now Miguelito looking sore. Unless Dontrelle can pitch every game of course.

Correct.

But I never said I was mourning the "season".

I was referring to 2 blown 8th inning leads against the Mets at home and a 4-run extra innings meltdown for the ages against the Braves on Sunday.

The 2006 has been excellent and more than I expected.

Hey, I wouldn't put money on winning the WC, so what the heck, keep watching and just play to win. Besides, playing philly 6 times is more than enough incentive. If we can't make it, then knock them out.

We are witnessing one of the most remarkable seasons (if not THE most) in baseball history and I still havn't heard of any fat ladies...

Those losses were a blow to the gut, but it's not absolutely impossible. Crazier things have happened.

Basically, the Marlins need to go 8-2(winning at least 5 of 6 from the Phils) and have LA go 4-6. That's not so impossible. I'd feel better if we had a bullpen.

100/1 in July is not that good

On Wsex.com you could have gotten 115/1 10 days ago when things were looking good right before the 2 Mets losses where they blew the lead. On Wsex.com you could have received 3000/1 back in July.

Yandro, he is talking about compounding bets...There is no single bet that would get you that much.

That's true, but I'm still talking about putting up only $2 today, never putting up any more money, and turning that $2 into $3000 if the Marlins win the WS. And back in July you could have put up just $1 to potentially get back $3000. It's called smart betting. It's why Vegas never loses. They take in all the action on teams and give people 100/1, 200/1, etc. before and during the season. Then they turn around and cover themselves by betting this way.
