  1. juan pierre was my favorite marlin during his time..but not all time..
  2. great way to finish the season and look forward to spring training 2014.... with alvarez and Fernandez in the rotation,we have a lot of optimism.. but we need to build up our offense
  3. i don't understand anybody ....would we want ozzie back with all of last years losers???? i sure as f%^&*!ck don't.. i'm glad we're starting over...
  4. never..i am and have been a baseball fan for43years of my life...the marlins as a franchise are my fountain of youth.. i love game of baseball and i love the marlins... the ownership had a difficult decision because ozzie guiilen and the coaching staff as well as last years team dissapointed us all.. i feel sorry for mike redmond..he's excited but the fans aren't... we shouldn't compare loria with his failute in montreal..in his 2nd year here,we won our 2nd world series...and got us our ballpark..after 10 years.. i say..let's get excited...baseball is back :pcguy .
  5. the good news is that our farm system is fully stocked...we have a lot of depth there..before long.our players get old...you never know when and where our baseballs biggest stars will come out of...
  6. my favorite marlin is juan pierre... a real team leader..love that guy
  7. i was at winter warm up...indeed it was quiet...but i'm not upset with loria...i would be if he kept last years players who sucked... he outspent every owner last off season...no one represented us in the all star game and ended up in last place....i'm raising a question here.. WHAT WOULD ANY OF YOU GUYS DO???? jeff loria gave as a world championship and he got us our new ballpark....huizenga and henry turned their backs on us....loria was a trooper.. have we forgottten that?? why not gve mike redmond a chance???
  8. real fans stay with their team thru thick and thru thin.... we've had tough times before...marlins fans are among the most battle tested fans in sports... world champs 97-03..fire sales in 97 -05... threatened to move the team in 05... last 2 seasons were probably the worst in our teams history... this can only get better..we don't know yet what loria and samson will do..but i'm sure some big decisions will be made..
  9. let the fire sale begin...hanley,bell.reyes..they all suck....
  10. i'm wondering if ozzie will be out of a job..we outspent everybody this past off seaon..this is embarrasing
  11. it was already enough of an honor to be voted in over the rightful all-time Marlins catcher C.J. thank you...c.j. teturned to the marlins for less money than other teams offered him..pudge refused the marlins 2 year offer with an option for 3.. i love pudge, but charles johnson gets my vote for the marlins all time catcher
  12. fidel castro is the true villian ..not ozzie guillen.. the exiles came to america for freedom and equal rights..ozzie exercised his first amendment right..it doesn't have to be nice...but it's allowed.. this is america.. ozzie apoligized and is being disiplined for it.. castro did the real hurting here..not ozzie..
  13. sec.322.row 2,seat 13... thios is my biggest christmas day ever.... :wee
  14. i've been to the park for fanfest..watched the game today....the marlins park is our dream come true.. it is a win -win for everybody..our team..the city of miami, county of dade, and marlins baseball lives in south florida forever..where it belongs...
  15. :angel condolences to his family...i don't remember him either..but he was one of the trailblazers of our beloved franchise...that means he was one of our own.. i hope his name is mentioned on the home opener..
  16. last night i downloaded the game 7 of the marlins and indians and game 6 of the marlins and yankees on i tuines... it's awesome..
  17. c.j came back to the marlins in 2001 for less money than he would have made elsewhere..when the marlins offered pudge a new contract after te 2003 world series,he turned it down out of greed.. let's not forget that c.j. set a record for catching over 100 consecutive games without allowing an error.. c.j. was catcher for al leiters and kevin browns no hitters..c.j. represented us in the all star game... don't get me wrong...i love pudge..and he was great..but c.j. did more and for more seasons..and helped us win our first world champinship... facts are facts..i was very mad at the fans for voting pudge of charles johnson
  18. Gary Sheffield has officially filed his retirement papers, according to George A. King III of the New York Post. After 22 seasons with the Marlins, Dodgers, Brewers, Yankees, Braves, Padres, Tigers and Mets, the 42-year-old is ready to retire. He says his numbers have earned him a shot a Cooperstown. "I am sure it will be mentioned and debated, but from my standpoint I know who is in the Hall of Fame," Sheffield said. "A lot of them don't belong in the Hall of Fame. If someone wants to debate me, check the stats." Sheffield posted a .292/.393/.514 line with 509 homers and 1676 RBI in the majors. The nine-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger recipient won a batting title and has a career OPS+ of 140. Sheffield came up as a shortstop before transitioning to third base and then the outfield. Sheffield, who earned about $168MM in his career, according to Baseball-Reference, ranks 24th all-time in career home runs. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/02/gary-sheffield-retires.html He'll probably be the first and only Florida Marlin to go into the HoF.
  19. that's great..that means better pitching for 2011.. the fish are hard up for pitching
  20. Why are we always ready to back track and pickup players who once play for the team, i think it is time we move ahead, if he can't get it together there why are we so sure it will happen here. we took back jeff connine in 2003.. we can do it again..dontrelle is young with a lot of years ahead of him.. i think that he's homesick and would play better down here.. he loves to bat too and can't do that in the A.L.
  21. Man up and get in Hanley face, i dont care how much money his making. If his going to jog after a ball and let runs score and a runner get to 3rd and not run full speed up the line when he his a grounder to SS get him out of the GAME! freddi definatley did the right thing..it's more hanleys head than it is his foot.. if hanley was hurting he has an obligation to tell his manager..otherwise he needs to sprint after that ball.. hanley is an allstar and we love him...but he isn't bigger than this team. we won 2 world titles before we heard of hanley.. we're fortunate to have him but he needs to give 100% of himself.. any other manager would have doen the same thing...
  22. Wow, looks amazing! So much for people saying navy works better. I love it! i agree.make the seats teal..
  23. Are u kidding me? What a joke. Is this team not in the United States? And we are wearing these jerseys every Friday home game! Ridiculous...I understand once in a while, but come on. Let's cater a little more to the hispanic population. it must be a cinco de mayo thing..i don't agrre with it either
