Welcome back Dietrich. Let's light em up.

I like Dietrich batting 2nd. This may be my favorite lineup on the team. I'll be sad when Furcal takes Dietrich's spot eventually.

Let me clarify. I don't think Dietrich is anything amazing, but his performance in Jacksonville and his up and down major league stint makes me think there's some untapped potential there.

Furcal probably won't keep it for long though anyway even when he gets back, I see him having multiple DL stints.

At the rate he's been going the past few years, he'll probably serve his final DL stint in September for bed sores.

That's most likely true. I would've rather spent this season letting Dietrich show what he's got than wasting a year on Furcal. I think we'd honestly get better production from Dietrich everyday.

Exactly. This won't be Furcal's only DL trip.

Yeah. That sub .300 OBP in the majors last year wouldn't fit in the leadoff spot. Outside of his one season in Jax, he never had an OBP over .350 at any level. His power potential makes him a nice candidate for the 6th spot in the lineup, but his style of hitting makes me think the 2 spot is a good slot. I wish we had a good OBP guy that we could slot into that 2 spot (other than Baker in the platoon role).

Yelich will be our leadoff hitter for many years. He'd make a great 2 hitter, but since we don't have a conventional leadoff guy right now he fits the bill better than anybody else.

I agree. I don't have too much faith in Dietrich, but let's just say I have a bit more faith in Dietrich being a part of this team's future than Furcal...

Are you guys superstitious?

Well, for each game so far, I've worn same hat and jersey, and gone outside to throw a baseball at 630. So ... sorta?
