Former Cubs cursing other teams

Former Cubs cursing other teams

Conversely, the "Ex-Cubs Factor" seemed to plague many a post-season qualifier that had too many former Cubs. This theory reached its zenith in 1990, when this factor "predicted" that the Oakland Athletics were "doomed" in the Series, and in fact were swept by the Cincinnati Reds in a stunning upset. In 2001, the Arizona Diamondbacks faced the Yankees with 3 ex-Cubs on their roster, and won the Series in dramatic fashion, pretty well burying that "curse".

Boston Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner, who was blamed for the Red Sox 1986 World Series loss after a routine ground ball rolled through his legs, was also a former Cub.

Former Cub reliever, Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams, gave up the 1993 World Series winning home-run to Joe Carter in game 6.

Borowski, Nolasco, an other Fish players are former Cubs.

nolasco and borowski aren't cursed, they've had good years..

Yeah no one expected them to

I remember I was questioning Borowksi coming to the fish..I was like why in hell would we want this guy? Same go's with Armando Benitez.

:mischief2 ..come to think of it, Todd Jones. I was rolling my eyes at that move.

But obviously I ended up loving them, when they had the great years.

Is there any reliever in the free agent list that you don't want the Marlins to ever sign for next season? :mischief2

In 2003, the coincidence known as a curse was broken by the Marlins with Willis, Harris and Banks

We were still facing the Cubs themself.

The Cubs haven't won in what? 80, 90 years? Hell even the Phillies haven't won it in over 25 years, and that was the only title in their 100 year or so history...

2 titles in less than 10 years doesn't qualify as a curse IMO.
