After reading some of your posts, I am just embarresed. You guys treat Girardi like dirt. He's about to get fired by Jeffrey Loria and nobody cares. You are too busy thinking about who will replace him. And you know what the saddest thing is? One of you will make a poll in the near future asking whos fault it was we didn't make the play-offs, and most of you will vote for Girardi! EVEN THOUGH WE SHOULD HAVE NEVER SNIFFED THE PLAYOFFS!!! Girardi had a team of over 20 rookies and a 15 million dollar payroll play meaningful games in September. Go ahead and say it was ALL talent. Don't praise Joe like Loria won't. Give all the credit to Beinfest. Well gues what? We had a great team last year but Jack couldn't get us to the play-offs.

I've been listening to interviews with Girardi and he really is a great guy and he gets treated like crap in South Florida and it's so embarressing for this team. He makes a mistake (all manageres obviously make mistakes) and he is ASKED TO APOLOGIZE IN FRONT OF THE TEAM. He handles it like a man and keeps winning, and he just gets punched in the face by those sleazeballs Sampson and Loria. But Joe is a class act and doesn't say one bad thing about them. And have you ever thought maybe the reason we dont have a stadium is because people just dont like Loria? He's just not a nice guy. They don't want to give their money to him.

Go ahead and pick out every dumb mistake Girardi made, but it's easy to gamble with a play and have a rookie mess up and make you look bad. He's done a great job, and people (and Loria) would realize that if they went to more than two games.

So forget about Joe and what he did for us in 2006. Let him go. He deserves better than the way he gets treated. Go get Jack off the rocking chair in Carolina. Go get Fredi for the 4 spanish players on the team. Go get Lou Pinella so he can scold Olsen.

He makes a mistake (all manageres obviously make mistakes)

But other managers (the average to above average ones) don't make the stupid moves Girardi has made all season. Lets not forget the ones he wasn't allowed to make by the Front Office.

A good manager does not clash with one of the best Front Offices in the league because he's power hungry. Ever.

Beinfest + Hill + Flemming > Girardi

$15 million is NOT an obstacle, LACK OF TALENT IS, and this team DOES NOT HAVE MUCH OF THAT.

For those who are undying Girardi supporters, ask yourself this question:

Would last year's team have done better under Girardi?

IMO? No.

His rookie mistakes and mismanaging at times would have made last year even worse.

What does that mean?

It means that this year's team is built on hunger, and looking back, I think we can all agree that no matter what, this team was always going to win games this year just because they weren't going to give up.

Does Girardi deserve a lot of credit for the work ethic that he's instilled from day one? Sure, absolutely.

But this year's team clearly had something that last year's didn't - heart, talent and desire, and that's all down to the players on the field.

I support Joe G and it is my concern that everything that is coming out is being leaked by the FO as damage control. Joe G has made mistake every managers does and remember he is a rookie as well. My point has been that it already done and We have to move forward, Loria is the owner Girardi is his employee if he doesn't want to continue employing him well that is that,,,I will be greatly appreciative of Joe G and i wish him the best, but i have to focus on who is coming to take his place now

The following are all Joe Giradi Articles  About him going to Chicago, wanting to leave, being fired, replacements, etc etc etc.

Whether he comes or goes, I really dont care. But, I do sorta hate the fact he is overshadowing the team right now and has been for a few weeks right now. It stopped being about the kids and became about him vs Beinfest, Him vs Loria and what will happen next sadly.

I'm trying to get the fact across that he gets treated like crap here by you guys (because of the dumb posts) and by mr. yankee seaon ticket holder aka Loria. If Loria doesnt like the job Girardi is doing THEN WHY DOESNT HE GO MANAGE? OR GO PUT SAMPSON IN A UNIFORM AND STICK HIM IN THE DUGOUT. Let Joe do his damn job and stop critizing him on everything. If you listened to interviews, you would learn how smart he is and how much he cares. He's done an amazing job.

I'm not asking you to take credit away from the front office.

I'm not asking you to take credit away from the players.

I'm just wondering why Joe receives ZERO credit.

All the negative words towards Joe is EMBARESSING.

Why are you taking Loria's side? How's that stadium coming along Mr. Loria????????????

this team was supposed to lose about 110 games

Actually, there was a poll here where most people wanted Girardi back. FWIW.

http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...248&hl=poll

A lot has changed since now and then, but that still doesn't defend drastic flip-flopping.

I wanted him back, still do, but I'm resigned to the fact that the relationship between him and the FO/owner cannot work, and we can't fire the owner, no matter how hard we try (or how much we'd like).

It's Samson. Loria wanted Girardi here and things obviously haven't worked out. I will assume you're not actually looking for a response when you asked why Loria doesn't go and manage. Again, many here have taken the stance that the fact that ESPN said the Marlins will lose 110 games doesn't mean much. How often are they right? What do they base their opinions on? At the All Star break, ESPN had an analyst on the air say the Marlins are still in need of a second baseman. That oughtta pretty much show you how much they know. It was an "insider" who made that comment.

I happen to think that the Marlins front office/scouting is damn close to being the very best in baseball.

But in terms of pure business ownership I don't find the same faults that most do with Loria. I don't blame him for the lack of a stadium at this point. I blame Florida government officials and the Florida public.

I don't blame him for the lack of a stadium either, but any of these other so called "bad ownership" groups would not have screwed up the 2003 team in the manner Loria did (Pudge, Lee, Penny, Pavano), nor have any team in recent memory ever had a situation like we did in 2005. An owner deeming contracts he himself negotiated no more than a year previous too expensive for him. Agree/disagree on the potential of the team, but there's no way to defend his actions which he claimed were solely predicated on economics, not performance.

I hope some "positive" press starts coming out for Girardi...something like "Girardi single-handedly saved the Marlins from losing 100 games"...or that "Girardi was the only person in the organization who believed that Uggla could start"...you know, general nonsense to incite the public in Chicago (or somewhere else) to demand local ownership to do whatever is necessary to retain Girardi's managerial services. The Marlins FO has done enough to demonstrate that Girardi and the current FO cannot co-exist...we get it. Now, the Marlins have to start "leaking" all sorts of positive stories involving how great Girardi is, and how much he helped us during the stretch run....EVEN if it is made up nosense and lies. I don't care...we need to pump and dump Girardi for ALL he's worth.

If you're a Marlins fan...you MUST root for the Yanks to win the WS (and I hate the Yanks). If the Yanks win...then Torre will retire as a winner...and then we can have the Yanks and Cubs outbid each other for Girardi. Man...I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about Beinfest plundering their farm systems for appropriate compensation for the current NL manager of the year.

Seriously, I can imagine the headlines a year from now ... when Felix Pie is dressed in teal...the 2007 NL ROY ... and the Cubs have lost 100 games.

as great as that would be, there is absolutely no way they give up Pie for Girardi

Fine...then we send him to the Yanks (assuming Torre leaves)...and tell Chicago that we're going to "leak" that we asked for Pie and the Cubs balked...so the Marlins had no choice but to send the second coming of all managers to the Yanks.

Bottom line...we need the Yanks in here for leverage. C'mon Yanks!! Let's win one more for the Joes (Torre and Girardi).

I haven't been keeping up with non-Marlins baseball...is Torre seriously considering retirement?

Not in the slightest.

He got exactly what he wanted this past offseason (Cash with more control than Tampa) and he's still got like $10 million remaining.

If he wouldn't walk away from the money after all the abuse, he's riding the contract out.

Not to my knowledge...I'm just recklessly speculating...but I have to think if Torre wins, it will definitely be a topic of conversation. It always seems like every off-season Torre needs to be "begged" by the Boss to give it one more year. Maybe going out on top and allowing the Yanks to bring in Girardi would make Torre give serious thought to retirement.

I've been laughing about this. I had a feeling even before the season started that Joey Pitbull wasn't going to last.

Anal-retentive control freak...manhandling players. Not a great way to earn respect.

Essentially, Joey Pitbull canned himself. He more or less bit the hand that signs his paycheck. For a guy who has that Industrial Engineering degree from Northwestern, he sure as hell knows nothing about tact. Telling your boss to "shut the f--k up" in public isn't exactly going to help you. If he had a problem with Loria heckling the umps he should have talked to Loria behind closed doors and explained that his (Loria's) actions were hurting the team.

Any of you who are at FAU..go ask your football coach what happened to him during the 1974 season when he was the head coach of the Colts.

Girardi to the Yankees? Ain't gonna happen. Remember that Billy Martin lipped off about Steinbrenner when he said about him and Reggie that "one's a liar and one's a convict?" Martin's ass was gone the next day. Sure, Steinbrenner kept bring Billy back, but Steinbrenner (who I like as much as having a root canal without novocain) probably wouldn't bring in a guy who now has a rep for talking back to owners. Besides, Steinbrenner already has three ex-managers on Torre's staff who'll probably take over when Torre either gets gets canned after this fall's 6th straight post-season choke job (gawd, I hope they choke again) or finally comes to his senses and gets out. Lee Mazzilli, Admin Bowa and Tony Pena. Why go out of your organization when you can just promote from within?

The Cubs? Not unless they want a player revolt. I doubt the older guys are going to want to shave.

Girardi never should have managed. A year as a bench coach doesn't give you the experience. Either you coach for five years minimum or you manage in the minors BEFORE taking the reins at the big-league level and learn how to work with people. Joey Pitbull didn't and look where it got him.

Of course not. They usually surfaced after each game when Girardi somehow discovered a brand new and exciting way to put his team at a disadvantage. :thumbup

Actually no.

They surfaced after 95% of all losses.
