Dorell Wright Hopes For Bigger Role

Featured Replies

He is alot like a younger Posey, except unlike Posey he can drive to the hoop very well.

I would love to see us end up using him as a starter by mid-season and not just because I drafted him (last round) of a fantasy keeper league :)

Is it just me or is he freakishly like James Posey?

I don't see much similarity besides position between the two. Wright is a much, much more athletic player than posey and even at his young age, is a much better ball handler than Posey ever was.

By the way, I thought this was an awesome comment by Darrell Walker, the new Hornets coach:

Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 19 points, five assists and five rebounds in 24 minutes Tuesday, drawing praise from Hornets assistant coach Darrell Walker, who replaced an ill Byron Scott on the sideline.

''That guy is pretty good,'' Walker said. ``I mean really, really good. He's getting to the point, and I love MJ, but we're going to have to start putting the Jordan rules on him. He's a pretty special player.''

Guess who grew 6 inches in 1 second?

MIAMI -- Heat guard Dorell Wright likely will miss three weeks after spraining his left ankle in Tuesday's exhibition victory over the Hornets.

Wright, who said he did not know when he was injured, called teammate Dwyane Wade at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and said his ankle had begun to swell significantly.

While x-rays were negative, Wright's left foot was placed in a cast, which is expected to remain in place for one week. He then is expected to miss an additional two weeks before returning to the court.

Based on his performance this preseason, Wright stood as a possibility to open the regular season as the primary backup to Wade at shooting guard.

The Heat's regular-season opens Oct. 31 at home against the Chicago Bulls.

Absolutely amazing, I hate you guys for jinxing the guy

By the way, he'd be the tallest true SG I've ever seen.

I've loved this kid from the moment he was drafted. He is a big talker, and seems kinda cocky, I like that. Confidence always leads to success. I'm living proof of it.
