joke (jk)

n.

1. Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.

2. A mischievous trick; a prank.

3. An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.

4. Informal.

1. Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.

2. An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.

Jokes are not explanations for flawed opinions.

The flawed opinion was like totally a joke.

And it seems like the general consensus is that the opinion was not flawed.

Charlie Crist.

Am I missing something here?

I thought about commenting on that earlier. It didn't make any sense to me.

You need to explain Accord, if that's not a problem.

It was a joke, and apparently not a very good one at that :mischief2.

But on a serious note: Zell Miller.

Whatever approach he took, right or wrong logically, I think his original post probably meant to be questioning how someone can consider Lieberman the only moderate left in the dem party but not make the same indictment against the republican party? If Ben Nelson and Kent Conrad are not moderates, then what is a moderate? Republicans have to be suffering from the same problem or one's definition of a moderate would ask democrats to become more conservative than some republicans.

Hah. He's everything the Democrats stand for. 60 years ago.

And Flying_Mollusk is exactly right. If I didn't make that clear, thats probably somebody's fault. Maybe even mine.

How about this one- Bill Clinton.

He's done good things since he got out of office. Also honestly, I prefer Bill Clinton with a Republican Congress over second term Dubya with a Republican Congress.

I think Lindsey Graham is a good Senator. Not really a stretch since he's pretty moderate, but still...

Honestly I like anyone in politics who doesn't resort to the easy tactics, and who doesn't try to paint everything in black & white extremes.

Also I wanted to add that I enjoy reading many "conservative" columnists, particularly those who can speak intelligently and not revert to the shouting & silliness that goes on with most of the talking heads out there. Guys like David Brooks and Bill Safire, Andrew Sullivan, even George Will on occasion.

Yet my post had absolutely nothing to do with republican senators, it was inferred that I somehow thought that republican senators were not radical, the leap was made without me and it added nothing to discussion.

Exactly. Contrary to popular belief on this forum, I don't hate democrats, I only hate the new progressive movement that is the modern democratic party where borderline socialism, high taxes, and restricting the freedom of individual citizens is the modus operandi.

Well, Accord, you should know that it is in fact the Blue dogs(people usually like Zell Miller for the most part at least) that are taking back the House, not progressives.

Joe Lieberman.

May be the easy way out, but he seriously may be the last moderate democrat (Yes, I know he is now running as an independent) in all of the senate.

not like I care, but you asked for it when you basically said every Dem is a radical.

First, not moderate does not mean radical. Second, isn't Bill Nelson still in the Senate?
