Who Starts at Third Today?

Featured Replies

THIRD BASE

I think Cabrera today, Lowell on Friday.

Lowell will pinch hit in seventh today and play third.

Cabrera will run for Lowell in sixth or seventh inning Friday and play third. What a wonderful, crazy challenge for Jack! (And us!)

If Conine is cold at bat today, might see Cabrera in left Friday replaced defensively by Conine in the seventh. (Cabs maybe then to third base.)

What a team! What a great problem. Glad Jack is there. And I won't second guess him because he's there, I'm not. (Thank God)

I would start Lowell today and bat him 4th and Cabrera 5th and drop Lee to 6th. Conine would pinch hit or double switch for Cabrera.

I agree. Cabrera in left, Lowell at 3rd, Conine on the bench.

Has Cabrera played any LF in the last month or so? I like the defense we're getting in LF from Conine. Cabrera mostly did well in LF but sometimes he looked like what he is - a rookie infielder playing LF for the first time.

I think I'd stay with Cabrera at 3B and Conine in LF. As long as we're winning, I wouldn't mess with a good thing.

I would put Cabrera in left and Lowell at 3rd but that's just me, i don't think Mckeon will go ahead andpull Conine out of left.

McKeon will leave the lineup intact in Chicago. Cabs and Conine start, Lowell off the bench. When we get back to PPS that may change but only time will tell.

Go Fish!

With Prior going tonight, I think I like Lowell's experience at the plate. I tend to agree -- let's try Cabs in left and Lowell at third tonight!..

i dont think Lowell's wrists are quick enough yet.... but who am i to argue?

Jack knew when he did the post game interviews last night whether he would stat Lowell today or not. I believe he tipped his hand and as much as said Mike stays on the bench. Perhaps I can be accused of mind reading but thats the vibe I got.

Whatever Jack does though, is fine with me.

Go Fish !

Guthrie throws junk.

The pitch prior to the homerun, Mike's timing was well off. I thought the 3-1 pitch should of been ripped, but Mike missed it.

Good thing for us..Guthrie cant pitch and left the very next pitch over the plate as well.

Lowell will not start until possibly game 3. He simply has not had the reps to get fully comfortable at the dish.

Jack has a problem...but its definitely a good problem to have.

Why would you change the lineup when were winning? I think its fine how it is. Conine is better defensively then cabs in left and lowell still doesnt have his timing back and it doesnt look like his wrist are fully healed. Plus Conine is seeing as many good pitches battin in front of gonzo thats why he isnt hitting as well. Keep it how it is Jack. :thumbup

Why change the lineup? Because Lee is killing us in the cleanup spot right now. I give him FULL credit for helping us make the playoffs. He was dynamite in September, but this is October. When is the last time he helped us offensively?

You have GOT to add on runs and bring that runner home from 3rd with one out after we scored. You can not strand guys every time up. It's unacceptable. How long is he going to be allowed to not produce in the 4-hole (0-5 with 3 strikeouts)? Anyone else they try there gets pulled very shortly after not coming through.

I want to see a change in that respect, but other than that, the offense has been clutch -- excluding A-Gon, but we have to just accept that we have 8 batters and he is our "pitcher" (easy out).

Sadly, our pitchers have hit WAY better than him this post-season.

well as of 5 post season games, sea bass is only batting 048 and that wont cut it but nobody in the media or the marlins is saying anything cuz his defense makes up for his batting i mean he does have some pop, but 048 is just horrible...

and no i do not think Conine will be benched, ? ya self and say If Miggy was in LF would he have robbed Arillia of a HR??? Conine has been solid in the out field and the plate

ya the HULK hit a Game Winning Bomb, but honestly he isnt ready to start any thing until the World Series, I like what Trader Jack is doing with taking Miggy out and putting Hulk in. that way Hulk is getting back to what he use to do..

and how could ya not love Hitting a Game winning HR in OCT agasnt the team who everyone thought you would have been traded to..

remember these cub fans and how annoying they were when we would tell em "NO, Lowell isnt going anywhere..."

and guys lets not be so scared of Prior, before this series began i was only worried about Wood and Zamz and we took care Zamz yesterday looks as if he cant handle da Preseure.....

Prior has neva faced us, and if Penny is on his A game we WIN

We're winning, so what's the need to change anything right now?

Exactly,if it's not broken don't fix it...Cabrera had a nice game yesterday (2-5 HR)...He's still going on that hot streak. Look for Lowell to pinch-hit in the 7th or 8th and possibly take over at third.

Lowell should remain on the bench, for now. Cabrera's ripping the ball right now and Conine has been solid at the plate and in the field. Lowell may be 100%, but he's still hasn't got his timing and rhythm back.

Lowell is better at 3rd. It will cost the team to play Cabrera there.

I absolutely disagree that Lowell is better at 3B. Either way, I don't see Cabs costing them in the field at third

Are you people brain dead. Who was one of the players that has helped us this postseason. And oh yea there was a play at the plate in game 4 against the Giants. UMM i forgot who was the one who gunned Snow at home. Conine!!! he has been doin awesome this postseason. We need some veteran bats in the lineup. not only Pudge.

Lowell could be considered a vet
