The "crucial days" someone mentioned here awhile back are running out. Only 15 "crucial days" left.

I still say the announcment is being held up while Loria and MLB play their dance over the loan forgiveness issue....and I don't expect an announcment until March.

I think your on the right track on this (you have been for quite some time). Its becoming evident that Loria is in a holding pattern in terms of this loan forgiveness.

I want to see it to believe it. I have fallen for "about to make announcement" about seven times to many. i just hope its true

I'm not getting my hopes up. We have been 'close' to getting a stadium since 1998.

I don't think we have ever been closer!... The News is so uplifting for the first time I feel something is being accomplished. Merry X-Mas Marlins fan I really believe it is happenning...I told you guys the main move was MLB taking over the negotiations and kicking Samson out of the picture

From what I understand it was least about Samson's involvement but rather primarily having gone through the process in Washington DC, MLB now feels they have an expert team assembled which can best deal with municipalities covering a wide range of issues from siting to financial issues, etc.

This is about keeping MLB (from an MLB standpoint) in the South Florida market because it's good for the baseball industry as a whole. The Marlins, or at least the team, is almost secondary to the primary goal at hand. It's like the old saying, "What's good for General Motors is good for America". If MLB can negotiate a deal that allows the franchise here to stop being a drain on MLB resources and can be a contributor instead of a recipient, everyone benefits.
