CapeFish
http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...sp&c_id=mlb Boog left the Marlins and now moves to Atlanta to broadcast a potential cellar-dwellar.
rferry
Exactly what he wanted - greater exposure. With TBS and its related channels making the transition from the Braves to MLB, Boog will get just that.
CapeFish
Boog will not be on TBS. Just as the #2 man on FSN South and SportsSouth telecasts. He will be employed by FOX/News Corp. Chip Caray will be on TBS exclusively and is expected to be the voice of MLB on TBS. Skip & Pete are on WGST and the Radio Network.

Marlins2003
As ambivalent as I am about him sometimes (although he always takes Ramp's calls) doing 80 games a season almost guarantees he won't be able to commit as much time, if any to 790 and if/when he leaves there will be zero baseball sports reporters/radio hosts in the market. The_Godfather
I guess this means he is done with the 790 show?

pierremvp1
did anyone ask him on the radio show? He doesn't want to talk about it on the show, but in response to some callers who've made remarks like "we'll miss you" he's responded with "keep the faith", and "I'd like to be back". I'm hopeful that WQAM will re-explore the decision.

furcalchick
boog schambi is a welcome change from bob rathbun, the main announcer for fox sports south the past few seasons for braves games. braves fans that have heard him have described his announcing as very dull, boring and monotone. many of the fans, who love skip and pete on the tv, are turned off by rathbun and are relived to finally have him gone. for you guys that are curious, boog will be with joe simpson for the fss/sportssouth portion of the schedule, while chip and joe do the tbs broadcasts most of the time, with skip doing 10 tbs games with either chip or joe, while pete van wiren is off tv completely. as i live in south florida as well, i know boog schambi is going to be a great addition to the braves crew for years to come, as i listened to him do marlins games for years and love his radio show. i hope that even if he leaves 790 here in south florida, he gets another radio gig in atlanta and start talking braves baseball in a market that has waned interest in the team in recent years due to be-muddled corporate ownership and vick taking over the airwaves, according to the people i know that live in that area. and capefish, the verdict is out about the braves being potential cellar dwellers among the braves fans. i don't think we'll be cellar dwellers, but alot of people have us as mediocre and i'm not expecting a great year from this team, but i'm not expecting last place yet, as i think the nationals are a bit weaker. i say the marlins will win the east as of now, but with two months before spring training to go, this isn't final. but time will tell. Fishfan79
Actually I was asking about boog. But I emailed boog and Zaslow wrote back that he will be doing ESPN, FSN South and the Radio show all together.
furcalchick
i'm glad that boog is going to stay down here in south florida doing the shows, while giving us braves fans a bit more pleasnt voice to listen to than that rathbun guy on fox broadcasts. everyone wins! i'm glad that boog is going to stay down here in south florida doing the shows, while giving us braves fans a bit more pleasnt voice to listen to than that rathbun guy on fox broadcasts. everyone wins! I agree, I was justing pointing out the irony of him heading to the Braves whom he previously didn't expect much out of. He didn't like the Marlins as "cellar-dwellars" (his term not mine) and now he moves onto a similar situation in Atlanta in terms of being second-fiddle to a bigger name and on a team that is attempting to rebuilding. He still can't get that Mets job....wonder why.
