February 9, 200719 yr Jacobs isnt anything better than what Rico Brogna was to the Phillies in the 90s...except Brogna had a glove as well. SO YOU READ THAT GOOD ONE YOU PEOPLE MUST BE BLIND I KNOW THE AGE IS NOT THE SAME AND AM NOT TRYING TO COMPARE HIM TO MIGGY MIGGY IS UNBELIEVABLE BUT LOOK AT THE NUMBERS IN THERE FIRST 600 ABs AND HOW IS HAMMER GOING TO TAKE HIS SPOT HOWARD HIT LIKEW 197 OFF LEFTY'S HIS FIRST YEAR LIKE I SAID IS IT BECAUSE HE IS NOT HOME GROWN AND YOU PEOPLE SAY HERM IS STILL THE REAL DEAL HE AND JAKE HAD BAD ANKLES BUT HE WILL STILL DO-IT BUT JAKE PLAYS HURT ALL YEAR AND KNOW IS RICO BRONGA KEEP READING THE PAPER
February 9, 200719 yr LaRoche will surpass Jacobs this year. Jacobs might get 25 HRs this year. 24 against righties. Adam Laroche is going to easily approach 30 hrs, with a full season under his belt. Jacobs is a okay player. but not a top 15 1B. bad arguement with the LaRoche stats. okay Jacobs in a CAREER 569 ABS...............30 Homeruns right??? okay ADAM LAROCHE 492(thats LESS than 500)...............32 Homeruns and thats just 1 season compared to Jacobs career who has the better numbers? February 9, 200719 yr Id take Texas IF over the Marlins any day of the week. Teixera > Jacobs (not even close) Kinsler < Uggla rangers have been waiting on him for a while but hes just not coming through Young > Hanley Simply said Blalock < Cabs cabs is in his prime and blalock has fallen rangers catching > marlins catching id argue the phillies have a better IF then us too 1st off....I'd take Hanley over Young because he's younger. Texas is my sleeper team this year but with our pitching, I think we are a better team. The Phillies don't have a better INF than us- I'd take Hanley over Rollins anyday.
February 9, 200719 yr Ok, when did we get from comparing infields to comparing Jake and Cabs? Way to hijack a post. I do believe that this year the Marlins infield is going to be the best, even better than Texas. Cabs beats Blalok by a large margin, esp. since we know Miggy will get better with the glove; he's shown that already. Young over Hanley? Not even close. This kid is 22 and had numbers that Young wished he had at that age and he is now in his 30s so he ain't improving anymore. Kinsler vs Uggla is to be continued because we have to see what Kinsler does in an entire season, so we don't know how good this kid will be. It is sorta like the Hanley vs Young case. Teixeira anyone would argue that he is better offensively than Jake, and also with the glove. But Jake was hurt for the most part of the season and yes he struggled, but he does have the potential, in a regular year, of hitting .280-.300, 25-30 hrs, and driving in 90-100 rbis or more, which I think is decent enough, even if they are not Texeira-like numbers.
