A-Rod up with the bases loaded

Featured Replies

I was at the game (IT WAS f***ING SNOWING) anyway, the booing wasn't directed at ARod, I think 98% of the crowd was behind him when he came up to bat, and the booing was that the Yankees had the bases loaded and one out for their 3-4 hitters and couldn't get a run in.

so part of the booing was directed at a-rod then..50%

To be comletely fair, Abreu did jack at the AB before A-rod.

The snow was awesome though.

A-Rod go Boom

Arod is such a bum. He only gets home runs and rbi in blow outs.

Seriously...and way to pad your stats with 2 completely meaningless RBI. You only need to win by one, douchebag.

:lol

It feels good to be able to cheer this guy. He's such a talent but man... I still can't believe he just hit a walk off grand slam. Way to bail out some terrible pitching by our starters! :thumbup

When will the lame fans of New York learn to appreciate ARod?

Sheezus christ. I'm sure he'd get booed if it was a 5 run difference and he hit a grand slam. Because we all know the Yankees post season failures are all ARod's fault.

When will the lame fans of New York learn to appreciate ARod?

We appreciate him. The media rides him harder than we do and it's completely because of his enormous contract. When you make that kind of money, the media and fans need to see you pull through like he did today.

He certainly hasn't made many friends with his mouth [trashing Jeter?]. His errors, abysmal post season performance, and failure to pull through in the clutch simply haven't helped him to make ammends. Do we boo him? Yeah - when he deserves it. He hasn't earned a free pass like guys like Jeter or Rivera who ARE Yankees and have proven themselves. It's not like Yankee fans are the only ones who boo their own hired guns when they fail...

Never.

ARod and Jeter have been compared their entire careers and ARod is and has always been the far better player (not even close) and because Yankee fans are in love with Jeter they have always hated ARod and they continue to hate him. Yankee fans are idiots. Rather than embracing a great player they treat him like sh*t.

Goddammit, the O's had this game.

The O's never have a game until the last outs in the 9th are recorded....not even two outs made me feel comfortable i knew it was coming! :banghead

And when Jeter does anything when the Yanks are down, he gets credit for not giving up on the game and trying to get his team back in it. Ridiculous double standard.

Ridiculous double standard. The difference is, Jeter has come down in the clutch in the postseason consistently and won rings. A-Rod was supposed to be the one to come in and bring them back to greatness as a former MVP he has yet to do that.

I agree that Yankee fans may be a tad harsh on him at times, but people (not saying you are) shouldn't act like Jeter gets a free pass for no reason. He earned that pass many times over.

Also, whether it is fair or not, A-Rod's contract will always be an albatros around his neck for as long as he has it.

Umm. I think bobbob1313 was being sarcastic. :mischief

100% agreed on all points.

But, just like Texas, ARod can't pitch too. And as Billy Beane has repeatedly told us (and gotten many of us to believe) two weeks in October is not a fair evaluation of a game played every day for 6 months. Besides, ARod did single handedly send the Yankees to the ALCS in 2004.

Other than that, I completely agree.
