IMO, we will take Detwiler(LHP, Missouri State) if he falls to us.

Electric lefthander, should be able to move fast through the system. Averaging 7+ IP over 9 starts, batters are hitting .188 off of him, 78/26 K/BB ratio, 11.13 K/9, 1.85 ERA, 1.08 WHIP.

What do you think someone in the know, like Ramp?

BTW- A couple of guys I could see the Marlins targeting based on their history of drafting: Justin Jackson, a slick fielding SS from North Carolina and Neil Ramirez a 3 pitch HS righty with great control. Me personally? I am hoping a guy like Jason Heyward falls into our lap, and even though MIchael Burgess stock seems to free falling, I still like his tools and would love to pick him up.

When was that list released FutureGM? Seems kind of outdated....

I can understand not wanting to deal with MLB level Boras clients, but it seems as if we have always been competitive and offered fair market signing bonuses in correlation to the position each player was drafted.

well we steered clear of Taylor Teagarden for that reason

and some incident went down with Craig Hansen too

This list looks old to me. Russell at #45 is an ANIMAL ! He just broke the all time Home run record ( season ), at the University of Texas and he still has plenty of time left to pile it on ! Not an easy task when you figure that the stadium at UT is HUGE....a real pitchers park.

He also hit for the cycle on Tuesday. Also he is an Outfielder....... Check him out on the link below.

#50 Joe Savery is a stud too.

If he is an Outfielder forget it! The Marlins do not select those til the 3rd or 4th round

Player worth taking a look at in the later rounds would be Cody Adams...6'2/180 RHP currently playing for the Southern Illinois University.

11 GS, 9-2, 2.45 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 7.63 K/9, .227 BAA as a sophomore.

Just because I like giving my boys dap, another tSIU player to look at in the later rounds is sophomore C Mark Kelly. .411/.443/.500 in 168 ABs, with 9 2B and 2 HR. 17K/8 BB.

6'4/195.

Cody Adams

Mark Kelly

Another guy we should look into in the 2nd round is OFer Denny Almonte from Florida Christian.

He is the definition of a 5 tool talent.

Speaking of D. Almonte's, Danny Almonte has signed to pitch with an new Frontier League team here in southern Illinois.
