For some reason Dumbledore trusts Snape, so that makes me think he's a good guy. But I think Dumbledore tries to see the good in people, even if there isn't any there. I don't think any of the other Order members fully trust him. I don't trust him, the things that he's done for the Voldemort: overhearing part of the prophecy esp. I'm sure he helped Draco in his tenure at Hogwarts. I'm sure he had a lot of knowledge about the Room of Requirement, and had to do with the Death Eaters coming in through those vanishing cabinets (even though in book 6, Draco tells Dumbledore that it was his idea). He obviously had grudges against some of the former Order members (James and Sirius), which I dont think is a good thing. One minor thing that I found peculiar, is how he never stays for dinner at Headquarters, I'm sure there's a reason for that. I know some people think that Dumbledore pre-planned his death, and part of the plan was for Snape to kill him, and run off with the Death Eaters to spy on Voldemort. I have a gut feeling that Snape is not going to return to the OOTP and stay with the Death Eaters. He knows a lot about the Order, which he probably conveyed to Voldemort. But some of the Death Eaters don't trust him (Bellatrix), but Voldemort does trust him ,and there will be a reason for that also. I think Snape's fooling Dumbledore, and is really on the dark side. He's always been fascinated with the Dark Arts, he's been a Death Eater, and applies for the DADA post each year...doesn't sound like someone trustworthy. IF Dumbledore's death was pre-planned, I don't understand why the rest of the order doesn't know about it. None of the other order members know why Dumbledore trusts Snape either. I think Rowling has set up Snape's turn for the Dark Side well and I don't see her turning the character's path around.

I think so too. We'll definetly find out his true colors. He's one of the people that are on my death list.

Lupin could be a goner as well. He's been spying on the werewolfs, but Fenrir Greyback is real suscipious of him. I think something bad could easily happen and Lupin could find himself in a bad situation. Rowling said that we'll see more from Umbridge. I think she dies (hoping that she dies, to be exact). McGonagall took some stunning spells to the chest in the end of book 5, and she didn't hold those too well. I think she might die. Hagrid will live, that giant blood really helps. I think Grawp (what happened with him?) will resurface.

Ron and Hermione will date.

Harry won't date anyone.

Cho will begin going out with someone else. (roger davies?)

My "friend" who reads the books has a prediction: Harry sacrifices himself to take out Voldemort and gets reunited with Sirius, his parents, and Dumbledore in the afterlife.

I thought about this also. It would be fitting and Harry is so noble, it would be just like him to sacrifice himself to save others.

I think Hermione and Ron get together. And I think despite Ginny and Harry being smitten with each other, I think Ginny winds up with Neville. I also think Hermione takes over as the Grand Wizard(ess?). She has been told in the past both by Sirius and Lupin that she is the brightest witch of her age.

she could be senior undersecretary to the Ministry (like Umbridge).

I'm pretty sure I've read that Rowling is only killing one of them.

JK would never divuldge such a major plot point...I've never heard anything about that. Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if only one of them died anyway.

I often wonder if Dumbledore will return. Since Voldemort was able to "return" through his diary in the 2nd book.

The reason Voldemort was able to return through his diary is because that was a Horcrux that he made. Dumbledore would not have made horcruxes because they are evil and they rip your sole apart.

and to make a horcrux you have to murder someone.

I'm extremely excited for this book to come out. I've read the last 4 the same day they came out (I read really fast) and I expect to do the same for this one. I got into these books before they became a huge phenomenon (Like, when the 2nd book came out) so I've been waiting for this to come out for ever.

I'm going to be in the middle of my baseball trip when this comes out so I preordered it for a book store in Chicago (where I'll be at the time) :plain

I'm that cool...

That is cool. Although I didn't pre-order the previous 2 and I just went to Barnes and Noble in the morning and they had a sh*t-ton

I'd be absolutely shocked to see my store run out (I work at a B&N college bookstore).

I'm definitely going to be there for the midnight release party, probably clocked in and in costume - last time I died my hair red and pretended to be Ron Weasley.

^ that's true

Rowling says we'll find out why some become a ghost, and some do not. I've wondered if Dumbledore/Sirius will return. But NH-Nick said there are negative things about ghost-living.

dont they become ghosts only if they fear death?

that may be the answer. but apparently we don't know the answer to it yet, DH will reveal it.
