Posted June 13, 200717 yr AJ left the game in the 5th with an injury. Mike Krukow said it looked like an elbow problem. Krukow is the Giants color guy and is a former pitcher. Hopefully it's nothing major.
June 13, 200717 yr I dont like it when people get injured, but I would like nothing more than Burnett to play terrible.
June 13, 200717 yr I have no idea why people hate on AJ, yet hate me for despising Mike Lowell. Maybe the fact that he was an ass most of the time he was here and/or that he got thrown off the team the last week of 2005. Mike Lowell busted his ass while he was here. He had one crappy season which was the reason he was traded.

He had one crappy season which was the reason he was traded. And Lowell undermined McKeon the 2 years after '03 and essentially forced the Marlins to guarantee his 2006 and 2007 after threatening to opt out and go to the Yankees (or did we forget that escapade before his wonderfully 'roid free '05?). Plus, he laid an egg as the most important player in the most critical season in team history (let me rephrase that, biggest high-low wildcard). Call it hyperbole, but if Lowell has a decent '05, we make the playoffs, win the division last year, and have the foundation literally down for our new stadium.
June 13, 200717 yr I have no bad feelings towards Mike Lowell and am glad to see him playing well this year. On the other hand, there is little that makes me happier than seeing Burnett fail time and time again. I'd prefer it be his performance rather than injuries but the guy has done nothing to earn the respect of anyone, particularly Marlin's fans
June 13, 200717 yr Swift will take any opportunity to post once again on his dislike for Mike Lowell (in more or less the exact same terms/points). You even set it up so you could go off on him once again by just posting about it hoping someone would bite. :lol Let it go already, everyone knows your stance.
June 13, 200717 yr That's the great thing about sports - you can hate anyone you want for any reason under the sun. I hated "Prime Time" and Aikman for years and had to hear people tell me how great they are and how I'm "stupid" for hating. Whatever. It's my perrogative. So feel free to get off TSwift's jock. He's got the right to his opinion without getting bashed for it.
June 13, 200717 yr I don't care about the opinion, I didn't say anything about his opinion. I'm 'bashing him' for saying it over and over and over and over anywhere he can reasonably put it. This thread is a glowing example. Its about AJ Burnett's injury and he flipped it to (once again) vent about Lowell.

If he had average numbers yes, if Mota wasnt crap also we win the division. Should of given him roids then. Everyone can have an opinion, Mikey though is a south florida guy so he gets extra love from most folks. Let anyone hate or love whom they want to. There are some current players on the team I dont like. As for AJ, I still wish him nothing but the best and hope he ends up okay.
June 13, 200717 yr Do a search for Mike Lowell and look at any post Swift has made on him post-2005. Broken record.
June 13, 200717 yr I respect Mike Lowell. AJ, however, is a totally different story. What a load of garbage.
June 13, 200717 yr Do a search for Mike Lowell and look at any post Swift has made on him post-2005. Broken record. And yet, eerily similar to the broken record that you are when you jump down everyone's throat who talks about either former Marlin on the Sox. Stop being such a control freak over the topics. Jesus Christ.
June 13, 200717 yr Has nothing to do with who he plays for. I 'jumped down' Spike's 'throat' when he said his same garbage on Bonds and I'm no Bonds fan. Seriously its pointless to say the same things over and over and over and misconstrue topics so you can continue to vent. Its basically trolling a subject and when you become a broken record its virtually spam. Thank you for coming out of the shadows to reply to/troll me though and getting that worked up, though. Thats becoming an eerily similar broken record. Put me on ignore since I irritate you so much. I can control myself but obviously you can't. So, do us both a favor. :thumbup :lol
June 13, 200717 yr Yeah, real worked up. I love the token response too. You need some new material already, seriously....too predictable already. :thumbup
June 14, 200717 yr Blue Jays pitcher A.J. Burnett, who left his start Tuesday night with a mild right shoulder strain, had an MRI and it was determined he won't need a stint on the disabled list. ESPN
June 14, 200717 yr A little more... 06/13/2007 8:33 PM ET Notes: Burnett to skip next start Right-hander undergoes additional MRI exam Wednesday By Jordan Bastian / MLB.com SAN FRANCISCO -- Toronto manager John Gibbons insists he isn't too worried about A.J. Burnett's latest injury, but the Blue Jays still plan on being cautious with the pitcher. On Wednesday, Gibbons said Burnett would skip his next scheduled start and he was optimistic a trip to the disabled list wasn't necessary. "He's fine," said Gibbons, following Toronto's 7-4 win over San Francisco at AT&T Park on Wednesday. "He'll miss one start. He doesn't need to go on the DL, we don't think." On Tuesday night, Burnett exited his outing against the Giants in the fifth inning after feeling pain in his right shoulder. The initial test performed by the Jays' medical staff revealed a mild strain, but the 30-year-old right-hander underwent an additional MRI exam at a hospital in San Francisco. The second test confirmed Toronto's evaluation of the injury. Given the early indications Tuesday, Burnett sounded as hopeful as Gibbons that he'd be able to avoid his ninth career trip to the disabled list. "I've thrown a lot here recently, so maybe I'm a little tired," Burnett said after Tuesday's outing. "I may need another day off -- miss a start or something. We don't know. All the tests were negative, so we're just going to get it checked out to make sure. I'm not too worried about it." Burnett left the game after throwing 82 pitches in 4 2/3 innings. He said the shoulder issue might simply be a case of fatigue, considering he threw 372 pitches over his previous three trips to the mound. For the season, Burnett is 5-6 with a 4.00 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 90 innings over 14 starts. Originally, Burnett was scheduled to start next Sunday, when Toronto hosts Washington in the finale of a three-game Interleague series. Gibbons said that right-hander Josh Towers, who recently moved back into the rotation after a stint as a reliever, will replace Burnett for the outing against the Nationals. Blue Jays/MLB
June 16, 200717 yr Nice to hear that its nothing serious with AJ. And its nice to know that at least it was never an elbow issue. AJ's gone thru enough already with the injury bug.
