July 19, 200719 yr If you think about it, he really hasn't been himself since he left with the forearm injury against the White Sox. Since then, he's gone 0-3 (in six starts) and has allowed 20 earned runs with a 17/14 BB/K. A DL stint is forthcoming. Not buying into this one. That forearm "injury" didn't hurt him vs the Pirates 7 days later or vs the Dodgers 5 days after that. It very well could be an injury of some kind. Or a mental thing. But my guess is that it is more mechanics than anything else. Just a little bit off with his type of delivery and bad things happen.
July 19, 200719 yr There is nothing shameful about this loss. Dontrelle had a bad night because the Cardinals have been one of the most productive offenses in the national league this year and Kip Well is a flat out stud.

July 19, 200719 yr I'm just going to throw this in here rather than starting its own thread...why not let Dontrelle go back to his spastic 2003 delivery? Wiley and then Krantiz really really tried to settle it down in the name of player preservation. Well, here we are, Dontrelle's not doing himself any good, or the team, just let him go back to being a whirlwind of elbows and knees.
