But for a while earlier in the day, Ramirez suffered a bruised ego over a comment Rollins made. Talking about the high stock of talented shortstops in the NL East, Rollins was quoted in the Philadelphia Daily News as saying that Ramirez won't matter until the Marlins matter. "Hanley, in Florida, is just Hanley in Florida. I can throw him out of the books," Rollins told the newspaper. "Jose (Reyes) in New York - he's the man. He's in New York." When the Marlins clubhouse opened to the media Tuesday afternoon, players were huddled over a copy of the story, laughing and teasing Ramirez. Ramirez made a copy of the quote and taped it over his locker. Talking later to Marlins writers, Rollins said he did not intend to take a shot at Ramirez, but only meant to emphasize that Ramirez doesn't get the publicity he deserves because he plays in a small media market with poor attendance. "Put (Ramirez) in a big-market city and he'll be getting talked about the same way that guy in New York is," Rollins said. "You've got to have the fans show up the game in order to get that praise. An alarming trend with Marlins first baseman Mike Jacobs: He's averaging one homer every 29.9 at-bats (entering Tuesday), compared with one every 23.4 in 2006 and one every 9.1 during his 11-homer late-season Mets call-up in '05. It's ''huge,'' Jacobs said of the importance of improving. -- Miami Herald Marlins outfielder out with kidney stones LF Josh Willingham had a second attack of kidney stones Monday night, forcing manager Fredi Gonzalez to rework the Marlins' lineup for Tuesday's game. Willingham, who had the first attack in the 10th inning of Saturday's game, was held out for a second straight game after spending part of Monday night in a Philadelphia hospital. "They can't do much for you other than give you ... painkillers and send you home,'' said Gonzalez, who wasn't sure how soon Willingham could return. -- Palm Beach Post Marlins Willing To Listen On Miguel Olivo For what it's worth, the Marlins will apparently listen to offers for catcher Miguel Olivo. Olivo makes $2MM this year, and that will increase through arbitration next year. If the Fish can't trade him, they might nontender him. Olivo, 29, is allergic to walks. He's drawn eight in 93 games this year, and just nine in 127 games last year. He does have above-average power for a backstop. Defensively, he's gunned down more than 30% of those attempting to steal on a regular basis. Originally with the White Sox, Olivo was sent to Seattle in the Freddy Garcia deal. The Mariners sent him to San Diego in '05 for another catcher, Miguel Ojeda. The Friars decided not to offer Olivo a contract after the '05 season and the Marlins signed him. He won the starting catching job in '06 when Josh Willingham couldn't hack it defensively. Olivo is probably miscast as a starter.

I still remember going to tons of Astros games from when I was 3 and 4. They actually say that long term memory really starts developing at about 3 years old.
