October 19, 200322 yr KILL HIM! TAKE HIM OUT OF THERE ALREADY!!! #$!$#@#$#$%%@!#$ START BRIAN GRIESE!
October 19, 200322 yr u know what i feel the same way, all these games have been too close, get some one who can produce....I say they put Griese in next week.
October 19, 200322 yr dude that pick didnt kill us. we should've won the game before. the secondary and special teams f***ed us up
October 19, 200322 yr Marino says its because of the baseball field (i think he said it makes you slip a little)... :thumbup
October 19, 200322 yr Author We've got frickin half of the bloody all star team on our defense. We've got Ricky frickin Williams and our O-line SUCKS MY NUTS We've got Thompson, we've got Chambers, we've got McMichael, we've even got McKnight. This team should be in the freakin SUPER BOWL. We need just ONE PIECE and we're there. GOD DAMN IT!
October 19, 200322 yr Author It sounds awful, but I think the best thing that could happen for this team is if Jay goes and breaks another thumb. An injury is about the only thing that would get Wanny to bench his golden boy.
October 19, 200322 yr Griese is nothing special, fact is i dont trust a QB who while drunk gets injured tripping over his dog. we had this game but stupid penalties and missed fg's f***ed us up
October 19, 200322 yr If I yanked out one strand of hair off my head for every wide open receiver Fiedler misses, I'd be bald. The man couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel. He couldnt hit water if he fell of a boat. Chambers could be one of the top 3 receivers if Jay could get him the damn ball. Even in that last INT, Chambers had a step on Poole. So what happens? Fiedler underthrows it, and gets picked off. Put in Griese, he couldn't do any worse. Hell, he may even complete one over 10 yards once in a while. OK, I'm done venting now. But just one more thing... CAN THE DAMN SPECIAL TEAMS MAKE JUST ONE BIG PLAY BEFORE I START GOIN GRAY?
October 19, 200322 yr ha that last pic was no biggie, it was the pathetic defense after the pic which i laugh at man Troy Brown TORCHED those 2.... sad
October 19, 200322 yr (SIGH) You people obviously dont know much about football. First of all the last pic was actually smart if u can say he threw it in the air and hoped for sumthin, the pic was as good as a punt. Secondly he did pass for over 230 yards and had a nice td to chambers. Even the first pic was entirely his fault it wasnt a bad pass, it landed rit in thompsons chest but the cb got lucky and stuck his hand in the way witout even lookin and tipped it in the air. Im not sayin Jay is awesome but hes a solid qb and why do u think no one wanted griese, he wouldnt do any better than jay if any of u actually saw broncos games u would see how griese aint nuttin big either. At least jay can make plays with his feet. If you want to blame any1 for this games loss it should be mare or dave. Mare for missing 1 field goal and gettin the other one blocked or u can blame dave for not being more aggresive and passin when they got into field goal range when he knew well that its harder to kick field goals from the dirt. It also doesnt help when we cant get a much of a running game going and im not sayin its rickys fault more the offensive line. well thats the way i see it.
October 20, 200322 yr SIGH) You people obviously dont know much about football. First of all the last pic was actually smart if u can say he threw it in the air and hoped for sumthin, the pic was as good as a punt You're right, it was a very smart pass. It was also a piss poor pass. And that's the problem, he's constantly missing wide open guys, especially on the fly route. I've been a Fiedler supporter since day 1, but I'm really getting frustrated now. The worse part is, even if Fiedler completely stinks it up, throwing picks left and right, I don't see Dave having the balls to bench him.
October 20, 200322 yr Fiedler seems to know who he's going to trow to (or at least try to throw to) right when he hears Turner call the play. He's not looking everywhere he has options. Maybe he doesn't trust some of his recievers, maybe it's the complete lack of blocking he and Ricky are getting, or maybe it's the fact that he always finds a way to throw the ball where the reciever isn't (he made about 3-5 accurate throws in that game. The rest were either over or underthrown). Or, maybe it's all three (I think it is). Whatever it is, he/they need to get it the f*** together.
October 20, 200322 yr However i think fiedler FINALLY figured it out...USE RANDY MCMICHAEL he is always gonna be mismatched with somebody. He's a great receiver. I've been waiting for a game like this from him for a loooong time. :thumbup PS how about replacin jay wit rosenfels?
October 20, 200322 yr If olindo had put the game away like he's paid to do the first...what? 3 times. than NOBODY would be blaming jay. he's an Underrated QB
October 20, 200322 yr he's an Underrated QB whoa! slow your roll...jay fiedler...underrated? idont know about that...
October 21, 200322 yr I've been waiting for a game like this from him for a loooong time. :thumbup Agreed.
October 21, 200322 yr If olindo had put the game away like he's paid to do the first...what? 3 times. than NOBODY would be blaming jay. But if the offense could post more than 13 points, then nobody would blame Mare.
October 21, 200322 yr If olindo had put the game away like he's paid to do the first...what? 3 times. than NOBODY would be blaming jay. But if the offense could post more than 13 points, then nobody would blame Mare. God knows they had the opprotunities.
October 21, 200322 yr Looks like some of you guys may get your wish as Fiedler was hurt in the game yesterday and is questionable right now for next week. Griese may be getting a shot to see what he can do after all.
October 21, 200322 yr If olindo had put the game away like he's paid to do the first...what? 3 times. than NOBODY would be blaming jay. he's an Underrated QB It was not Mare's fault that damn line could not hold up to prevent thar damn block kicked. If any one is to be blamed for this game is the line, and Dave. This was Jay's best game of the year the problem wheather we like or not is that in reality the marlins did cost the Fins the game.
October 21, 200322 yr Looks like some of you guys may get your wish as Fiedler was hurt in the game yesterday and is questionable right now for next week. Griese may be getting a shot to see what he can do after all. I know Greise has lots of potential but I dont know about making him the starter. He seems to have lots of issues and it wont be easy playing for the Dolphins when your last name is Greise.
October 22, 200322 yr Author Yeah, I agree, Griese was clearly a dud after his first amazing season. But it annoys the heck out of me when people give more credit to Jay than he deserves. He is completely incapable of reading a receiver more than 20 yards downfield, and even when he can line it up, he usually misses the throw badly. The reason I'm venting after this loss is because it is, in fact, a LOSS--we're lucky to have only two losses DESPITE Fiedler's terrible performances. I'll agree, Griese probably isn't stellar, but I'd at least like to give the guy a shot; we could potentially become a passing threat, thereby getting the huge target sign off of Ricky. Oh, and that last INT was NOT smart, despite what an announcer would proclaim without putting forth any thought. Our defense was totally sapped of energy after the previous drive. The offense gets the ball, and what do they do? Very quickly blow through the first two downs. On third and long, Jay chucks the duck for a pick. What's the result? Instead of us eating up more time before a 4th down punt and allowing both special teams to hit the field, we're forced to immediately send the defense back onto the field, 2 minutes after they were given a "break"--all this after more than one full regulation of play! Did you see that sorry excuse for a "pass rush" on that TD toss (which, by the way, Jay would never have been able to make in his entire miserable NFL career)? The defense was EXHAUSTED! I started with the "Oh, F*CK" after I saw Brady unleash after a good 10 seconds to eye out Brown; I knew there was no way on Earth our CBs were going to catch up there. I thought the Griese deal was probably our biggest offseason blunder after we picked him up, but I'm sure even the Greasemonger can produce better than FEE FEE, for cryin out loud. Fiedler is completing 56.9% for 6.68 YPA, 6 TDs, 7 INTs, and a 71.8 rating (note that lovely 1:1 TD:INT ratio he so strives to meet every year). I just looked at ESPN's sortable stats for QBs. Of the 17 QBs who took enough snaps to qualify to be ranked, Jay is #15 for INT%, #15 for completion pct, and #14 for QB rating. Consistently abysmal. If you look at his splits (which don't include this last game.. the 2 INTs would make this look even worse), for PASSES THROWN, you see: BEHIND LINE: 21/23 151yds 91.3% 1-10 YDS.: 40/62 382yds 64.5% 1INT 11-20 YDS.: 8/24 147yds 33.3% 2INT 21-30 YDS.: 5/13 166yds 38.5% 31-40 YDS.: 1/5 39yds 20.0% 41+ YDS.: 0/5 0yds 0.0% 2INT This shows that not only is he incapable of completing long passes, but he doesn't even have the nuts to attempt them. He prefers the "BEHIND LINE" and "1-10 YDS" varieties MUCH more. You have no idea how irritated I am at how predictable this offense has become. It's basically a given now that every defense will throw their kitchen sink at Ricky because they know that Jay is completely unable to muster a passing threat. I will be shocked if this team makes the playoffs with Jay as their starting QB. About the "questionable" injury status: Jay is constantly "questionable" for some odd ailment or another, but he never sits out games due to "questionable" injuries. I don't know if it's an excuse for his poor performance or if he's truly a magnet for random injuries. In any case, I'll be praying that he gives Wanny a reason to start Griese. I wouldn't dare to ever tout an unproven Griese, but I think it's pretty clear that our offense can't get much worse at this point. We have Derrius Thompson and Chris Chambers, for crying out loud! We have the red-hot Randy McMichael. And we have Ricky Williams AKA God as our RB to open up the pass! Do you remember what Emmitt Smith did for the Dallas passing game back when they kicked a** so much? What the hell is going on??
October 22, 200322 yr We've got frickin half of the bloody all star team on our defense. We've got Ricky frickin Williams and one hell of an O-line. We've got Thompson, we've got Chambers, we've got McMichael, we've even got McKnight. This team should be in the freakin SUPER BOWL. We need just ONE PIECE and we're there. GOD DAMN IT! LOL.......... Get a clue ...The offensive line sucks...They can't pass block or run block..
October 22, 200322 yr thank u minus. the o-line is playin like a piece of crap. i know jay is not the best qb in the league but we can win with him, he defintely has more heart than griese. there always reports from denver that he was a social outkast from the team and a team needs a leader on the offensive side of the ball. and if any of you ever watched any broncos game u would see he would screw up almost everytime in the 2nd half. jay is top 5 in 4th quarter come from behind wins so give him some credit.
October 25, 200322 yr Author We've got frickin half of the bloody all star team on our defense. We've got Ricky frickin Williams and one hell of an O-line. We've got Thompson, we've got Chambers, we've got McMichael, we've even got McKnight. This team should be in the freakin SUPER BOWL.? We need just ONE PIECE and we're there.? GOD DAMN IT! LOL.......... Get a clue ...The offensive line sucks...They can't pass block or run block.. Look, my only point is: the QB position, by far, is our weakest link. I'll admit that the offensive line hasn't looked so good for the past couple of games, but how well do you expect them to perform when your offense is so predictable that all the other team has to do is stack the line and maybe bring up a weakside linebacker--effectively crushing the run and forcing a pass--and your QB can't hit an open receiver to save his life? Whenever an offense is so 1-dimensional that they can only win if their RB gets the ball, it's VERY EASY to make an offensive line look bad. Do you have any idea how predictable we are? According to ESPN, on a percentage basis, the Dolphins run the ball more on first down than any other team in the NFL. I guess the true test will come this weekend. Our offensive line should be in good shape. More likely than not, Mark Dixon will be back and will play in Nails' place at left guard. Tim Ruddy hasn't been the same since he came back, so Wannstedt said he's considering giving Seth McKinney more time, which I think is a good thing considering how well we ran the ball when McKinney had more snaps earlier this season. If we again struggle this weekend on offense, you CAN'T blame the offensive line for not being there. At some point you have to give some blame to the guy who can't hit (let alone read) an open receiver 15 yards downfield.
