No Hitters 2007

Featured Replies

So Smoltz finished tonight within 6 outs of a no hitter. (first in ATL since '95)

but i was just thinking about how many "near no hitters" this season and if there was a record here.

i consider near no hitters to be through 6.1/7 inns. maybe others have different opinions.

just thinking about it but besides the 3 no hitters this year, how many came close and is it a record?

shilling 8.2 vs oak

king felix 8 vs bos

cain 7.2 vs sd....then lost

cain im sure went 7 again

maine 6.2? vs fla

smoltz 7 vs wash

there has to be more but to say 5 pitchers went 7-8 innings is something else

big z went seven innings, lost it on questionable hit, but gave up gw homer in the ninth for a cg, 2 hit loss to the padres, 1-0.

Weren't we almost no hit for like two straight weeks? Or was that last year?

That was this year. Maine, Smoltz, Peavy, and Shawn Hill all got far enough for people to reasonably think "no-hitter". I think I am missing someone.

yeah. baker did just go to the 8th with a perfect/ no hitter

anyway i think we all agree that there were at least 10-15 no hitters going into the 7th innings and later

thats something else...

Phil Hughes didn't allow a hit when he left the game after injuring his hamstring on May 1st (6.1 IP). Four days later, Chien-Ming Wang went into the 8th with a no-hitter before giving up a home run.

Chien-Ming Wang did it again later in the season....forgot the exact situation though, but I remember following it.
