Pretty damn good debut, IMO.

It'll be interesting how the family dynamic gets handled, it's obviously just as big as the business side of the show and that is what made The Sopranos so classic, the family plotline was just as engaging as any.

A lot of promise though.

I like seeing Polly Walker getting work so soon after Rome, she was robbed of an Emmy nod for her work on there.

I also hope Lee Tergesen's role get's expanded he was amazing on Oz.

Interesting a lot of the professional reviews are incredibly mixed/mediocre and fan response is pretty lukewarm from what I've read.

It had a good debut ratings wise.

8.5/14 (Gained 21% on it's lead-in, The Unit)

Smith, which was in the exact same spot as Cane and failed last year had a 7.8/12.

I miss that show.

I haven't seen it yet. My parents showed some interest, so I'm waiting to see if we could all watch it together. Smith was the only show me and my dad watched together last year.

By the way those are only the overnight ratings, so they are a bit bloated. We'll have a better idea after the fast nationals come out around noon.

If you're worried about content, it's not bad.

Yes, Smith was great. That pilot was absurdly good and it was one of the best looking shows on TV to me, had a great class and a great two pronged storyline. I have absolutely no idea why it failed and then trash like the CSIs get huge ratings.

I blame my wife. She can't get enough of CSI.

I just like strict serial dramas.

Smith was just a bad ass show that was getting better by the week to me.

It's incredible how little good TV there is to me right now.

1. Lost

2. The Wire

3. The Shield

4. The Office

Pretty much it. Everything I used to like has either gotten bad or is off the air.

Any show that puts David Carusso in the lead role is the work of the devil.

save the year he was on NYPD blue.. talk about a career mistake leaving that show so early

I think I was like 10 the first year of NYPD blue, so Jimmy Smitts and the dude from Silver Spoons, plus a little bit of Zack Morris, are all I really remember.

That show was kinda deep to get into when your that young.

They were filming a scene for this at the first Dolphins preseason game this year. Jimmy Smitt's character gives a speech for some reason, apparently I missed the announcement they were filming for the show, because I was pretty confused when Jimmy Smitt was announced as Alex Vega or something and proceeded to give some random speech.

I got into it hard on reruns.. The season with Caruso was excellent and Smits' tenure there was outstanding. I actually enjoyed the seasons with ricky shroder. I thought zach morris did a fine job acting, you could just tell the series was coming to an end.

One thing is for sure, Dennis Franz is a wonderful actor. There probably wouldnt be a vic mackey if there was no Andy Sipowicz. I wish he'd do movies or make a comeback of some sort.

The pilot was great. It increased in quality because every cultural play they made was totally spot on.

The family dinner scene was literally a moment out of my own life.

Yeah, I can't help but be a little bias. There was no question about the authenticity, like Juanky said, everything was spot on. They even nailed the accents (not talking about Cuban accents, but South Florida accents in general).

Episode 2 > Pilot.

Which is great.

We are actually getting to see what Alex is all about. He did a lot of things last night I was hoping we'd see. I was wondering why he wasn't just taking care of some stuff himself but he definitely did that and then some.

Good drama and suspense in this episode. Very good start.

Might be because they're trying to do too much too fast. It seems like the Duque world is collapsing at a rate that's almost unbelievably quick.
