October 18, 200718 yr Reported on the Tampa Bay Fox affiliate?s late night sports cast yesterday. The Big Ten is looking at going ahead and expanding to twelve teams. Overtures have been made to the University of Missouri. Mizzou to Big Ten.. Arkansas to Big 12.. USF to SEC http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/EyeoT...ference_Dominos
October 18, 200718 yr Mizzou rah! rah! rah! Arkansas not in the SEC would be so wrong to me. USF in the SEC would be interesting because that means Florida will have to play them annually. So the mothership playing the baby school...interesting.
October 18, 200718 yr It wasnt too long ago that Arkansas wasnt in the SEC But I have gotten used to them there, effectively killing the SWC.

October 19, 200718 yr If this move would happen, the Southeast Conference would be faced with filling a vacancy. That leads to speculation that the SEC might approach the University of South Florida to leave the Big East and come aboard. The rationale there being that the Atlantic Coast Conference has two members residing in Florida and it would even out the SEC?s representation in the state verses the ACC. USF in the SEC? Why not? That's the rationale?
October 19, 200718 yr So USF has one good year and now they are ready to enter the SEC? BTW if I was USF I would rather not join the SEC. If they stay in the Big East they can compete for a BCS bowl every year. In the SEC they will most likely be a mid tier team. How often do you hear people talking about Mississippi State?

There is still half a season to go, so they may end up out of the top ten when the season is over. If USF stays in the big east they should compete every year. In the SEC they would be in the bottom tier.

I definitely don't think they're bottom tier.

I definitely don't think they're bottom tier. South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Bama, Auburn, Tennessee would probably all be better. USF would fall somewhere with Kentucky and Ole Miss. Then the bottom is Vandy, Miss State

October 19, 200718 yr I can't see USF being in the SEC no matter how good of a team they ever get because Tampa looks and feels absolutely nothing like the South. (nor do I see as being part of South Florida )
