Marlins say Hermida is still not 100 percent

It could be several more days before Jeremy Hermida is removed from the disabled list and installed in right field. That's because the Marlins aren't convinced the right fielder is 100 percent recovered from a strained left hamstring.

"It's not there yet," Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said Saturday. "He's not confident enough yet to turn it loose."

Hermida was eligible to come off the DL on Saturday.

But Gonzalez said the decision was made to give the Hermida extra time to get back to full strength.

As a result, Hermida was scheduled to play just five innings today for Single A Jupiter and would go nine innings on Sunday for the Hammerheads before a decision is made.

Gonzalez said Hermida could join the Marlins in Washington early in the week or wait until the team gets to Houston later in the week.

funny how gonzo isnt even in th lineup...usual fredi

A day off against a lefty... I'd expect him to pinch hit later on.

i think its two things...gonzo going up against another lefty...and carroll made a terrific play last night...just rewards for him
