The metrorail expanion plans are pretty shoddy and really only seem feasible in the North/South direction, given the budget. Instead, they're squandering that 0.5% mostly on expanded bus service. What a waste. I think the Miami Arena area is a great spot, although I don't see how they'd fit a baseball stadium there and accommodate parking for potentially 40,000 attendees. I can't imagine what they'd have to knock down in order to find the space.

October 26, 200322 yr DT, if Dade says no, maybe the Marlins could try Fort Lauderdale or Palm Beach. I am sure that if you give them incentive (All Star Game possibility) and more $$$, you can get it done. Remember it will cost more in Dade because you have higher costs (i.e. land, construction, etc.) A $325 million ballpark in Dade might cost $295-300 million in Palm Beach/Broward/Central Florida.
