His starts so far this month show a guy getting control of his craft. The Last four games he's given up three runs in 28.2 innings with 24 strikeouts. Because of the way MILB does stats it's really difficult to sort of see the whole picture (his numbers are to a great degree a product of that bad April) but he's gone seven innings in three of his last four starts and in that one he went 6 innings. "Eulogio "Frankie" De La Cruz came within one out of tossing Albuquerque's first complete game of the season and Jai Miller and Andrew Beattie each two-run homered in Albuquerque's 5-2 victory over the Round Rock Express (AAA Astros) on Thursday evening at "The Lab". In the 1st inning, Beattie walked, advanced to third base on John Gall's single and scored on Jason Wood's sacrifice flyout as the Isotopes led 1-0. De La Cruz and the Isotopes hung onto that narrow margin until the 6th inning when Albuquerque gave themselves some breathing room. Jai Miller, playing for the first time after six games off due to a strained groin, homered with John Baker on base as Albuquerque led 3-0. In the 7th inning, Barnwell walked and scored on Beattie's homer as the Isotopes extended their lead to 5-0. De La Cruz had a shutout going to the 9th inning. The Tigers had him projected as their future closer, before trading him.
