I would think that he is seen as a valuable part of their "rebuilding", they are doing too well to call it rebuilding, process, i honestly would love to see him join the Fish specially after seeing him this past 2 games but i think the more realistic targets are all in the Rangers.

Lo Duca is too broken down as it is, and that's not counting his perennial second half slumps... I shudder to think of how bad he'll be in the second half... if anyone I'd rather have Johnny Estrada of that duo, but that's pushing it

I wouldn't readily put Beinfest in the same level as Beane

 

Beane also doesn't operate like some are thinking re: Trading Suzuki.

 

Beane doesn't make trades unless he knows he wins. Book it, this year, if Sabathia is traded, Blanton will be traded AFTER for almost as much or more because Beane sells to the needy/desperate teams that are willing to overpay, he almost NEVER goes equal value trades.

 

Also, to whomever suggested trading Gregg to the A's... Beane is the one that inflates a RPs value and sells them to the highest bidder, see: Keith Foulke, Billy Koch, Jason Isringhausen et al...

Well this thread was started off of the sample size of two games. .279/.343/.365 doesnt really signify what he has done so far in this series. I know he is very young and has some potential. But he's still a 270/340/415 type of guy in the majors at his prime IMO. look at the Texas boys if we look anywhere for a stopgap. If not, I'd rather bring in a veteran as a stopgap for Skip than to give Beane what he would want for Suzuki.

Treanor has an average arm, and he is not that great at blocking the plate, maybe I am just so used to catchers being so good with the Marlins speaking of Lo Duca and Rodriguez.

Im not over-analyzing anything... what's the point of saying Hate < Love the way you did then?

 

Also, Lo Duca went .258/.314/.376 in 2004 and then .283/.334/.380 the next season

 

Last year Treanor went .269/.357/.392 with a 2/3 K/BB ratio. This year he's not been too good... but much better than the staggering .193/.292/.263 that LOLDuca is putting up.

 

So, no, he IS not better than Treanor at all, he may HAVE BEEN better, but if your paying for a player's past, we should be first in line to get Mike Piazza. Also, I don't like that clutch argument, in late and close games he went .252/.324/.374 with us in 2005... that's not really "clutch" at all.

 

Basestealers went 89/118 against him, so he may have had a strong arm, but he sure didn't use it, throwing out only 25% of baserunners... a number which Treanor is mirroring this year...

 

Every point you made about Lo Duca is so fallible, it's crazy, if you want him fine, Im not gonna say you can't want him, but I can say, as a fan of the same team, that you want Lo Duca is terrible for this team.
