July 14, 200817 yr Who's place will he take. Personally, i would leave miller in the rotation. He's a man and he can get over his struggles himself. Miller will be out of the rotation, Volstad is a prized possession and JJ, Nolasco, Olsen, will without a doubt be in the rotation. You cant just send down miller for a couple bad starts. That will just destroy his confidence. We have to ride with him for the rest of the year. How do you know anything about another person's confidence?
July 14, 200817 yr You are a Donkey Mr Danger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol sorry couldn't resist I still have no idea what that was supposed to mean. Watch this it should explain it Rab

It's pretty obvious that someone's confidence is bad when they're getting owned.

Do you think his confidence will get any better if he keeps pitching the way he did today? No, but he's proved that he can have success with the big boys. and if we leave him here and pitches good like he did in May, his confidence will soar. You're just pissed that when he goes down you'll have to change your picture. :thumbup

July 14, 200817 yr We need to send Miller down quick, he is almost guaranteeing a win for the other team when he pitches, he clearly isnt ready and needs to work with his control down in the minors....the Tigers did the same with D-Train

I think, IMO, that we need to leave him here. He can have success as he has shown already, and once he does he will be the pitcher that we hoped for. seriousley we cant send him down because he is going through some tough starts.

Ok soooo...according to you we have two options: Leave him here, let him get battered in the Majors during a pennant race while his confidence goes down, or B. Send him to the minors and (because you know his personality so well) his confidence goes down there. I guess you want option A though?

He had like 3 bad starts, CALM THE F**** DOWN.
July 14, 200817 yr When Sanchez comes back there is no doubt in my mind that Miller will either be placed in the bullpen or sent to the minors. Even Tommy Hutton was saying it on the broadcast on Sunday. He had a couple of decent games but has reverted to being inconsistent. Starters: Nolasco, JJ, Volstad, Olsen and Sanchez. Long relief is covered by Waechter and Hendrickson. Middle relief and Set-up: Tucker, Nelson, Lindstrom and Pinto Closer: Gregg We don't need Miller blowing games early and burning the bullpen every 5th day. Let him mature and learn in the minors and bring him back up with the September call-ups to take another look at him in mop-up situations. I don't see much sense in putting a SP in the pen that has trouble in his first couple innings. That's looking for trouble out of the pen. If anything happens I think he gets sent to AA. We are going to have to wait and see how he does in his next 2 or 3 starts.\ BTW Anibal didn't start IN Jupiter. He started for Jupiter in Ft Meyers. Trivial, I know. His second start for the Hammerheads and it looks like he is working on getting his pitch count up. Nice outing and it looks like he is right on schedule.
July 14, 200817 yr With the way Miller has been pitching, there's a spot in the rotation with Anibal's name on it when he comes back. Miller wasn't ready, and if he spent much of the year at AA, he would be coming up now or later and actually be pitching well. Instead he was rushed.
July 14, 200817 yr In summary ( in case you've just tuned in): Sanchez pitched in Jupiter. Miller will be sent down. No he won't. Jackass! I am not a donkey! Someones confidence will be destroyed. No it won't. What do you know? You are a donkey Mr. Danger! ??? F*ck Chavez! Sanchez pitched in Ft. Myers. OK, resume tthe thread.
