Yikes!

I really had no idea what a jerk he was off of the field as well. I will say this though. I would have much more respect for the writer had he not waited for Manny to be gone to write the article.

Yeah, half of this seems to come from bitterness, imo.

However, I have heard from people I know, that Manny is a jackass, as well.

Boston and Manny didn't end on good terms; that's for sure.

I've always heard he was a mixture of a jerk and a nice guy, depending on his Manny Being Manny mood.

Me too.

Hugo (official barber of the Florida Marlins) told me he was very good friends with Manny...yet, Manny and him no longer talk b/c he owes him thousands of dollars.

Manny owes Hugo?

Yeah. I don't know for what, though. He won't say.

Have you ever met Hugo?

Who the hell is Hugo?

The Marlins barber.

He's cut a bunch of MLB players' hair, and he has a barber shop here in Miami.

He's the guy who also designed Hanley's "H2R" logo on his car.

They actually mentioned him in last night's game (during like the 5th inning, when they were talking about Amezaga's new hairstyle).

Article is pure ignorance and especially bitterness. They hadn't won in 86 years (well, it was 83 when he got there, but whatever), Manny produces there big time for just shy of 8 seasons, is maybe THE key guy for two world championships including winning a World Series MVP, and you say all that when he leaves? I know he left on bad terms and had been a pain in the ass the last month or so, but that doesn't change what he did for the Red Sox. I hate when people are like that when players leave, yeah he left on bad terms but he did great things in and for Boston.

Manny was hit or miss up in Boston. You either hated him or you didnt. Some people thought he was lazy and an ass and others thought he was manny being manny. You will see both tpes of articles written over the next few weeks. The media was never really fond of him, because he never talked to the media until last year. He always refused.

Manny is a wacko I am sure he did that to be unique. It will be funny seeing him with Short hair. He hasn't had a haircut since the 2003 season.

Manny is going to regret going to LA. He will soon realize how good he had it in Boston with great players hitting all around him. Granted, the Dodgers are young, but they are a team that struggles offensively. It's going to be hard for Manny to drive in runs with no one on base! And perhaps after he realizes this, I doubt he returns next season to LA.

^ but it will be like bosotn of 2003. Lowe, Nomar, it will be nice. Bing back Grady and Lorretta and he is at home.
