Aubrey Huff, DH/1B, Baltimore: Huff is due more than $10 million between now and the end of his contract after 2009, so he should sail through waivers without a claim. He's having his best year since 2003, when he looked like a 26-year-old on the verge of offensive stardom, and he certainly could help a few contenders who aren't getting enough production at designated hitter, first base or corner outfield, like the Twins, Rays or Marlins. The Orioles would have to eat a huge portion of Huff's deal, but general manager Andy MacPhail hasn't been afraid to act boldly to get good young talent in return. The Angels could go for broke and designate Gary Matthews Jr. for assignment to replace him with Huff, but we know that's not happening.

Interested? I think it's worth a look :mis2

Actually, yea I am interested after reading everything above.

It would be a great move, we would have a new bat in the lineup and then we could finally get rid of Jacobs!

Will it happen? Probably not.

I have a feeling the Florida Marlins FO is just going to forget who we need and figures they have already overachieved that's good enough.

Yeah we probably won't get him... I figure he would be kind of expensive as well.

We don't need another outfielder. Especially one whose primary position is not in the outfield, at least.

If we're looking at using another corner infielder to replace Jacobs, I believe we have a fairly decent one in the minor leagues who is leading the home run race.

PASS.

GoFish, for two people who have so many arguments on here, we have a lot in common.

Caboose is the greatest thing ever.

I wouldn't want him.

For that, give McPherson a shot.

I don't want to give up too much for an overpaid man, having a career year.

He actually had a couple of career years back in 03 and 04...so this would be like his third career year.

4th, Don't forget 2002.

And 5 if you count how clutch he was for the Astros in 2005. (Does by .938 OPS with RISP as a starter count as a career year?)

Seem like every time a player is mention, you see post that they are overpaided, still we complains about the front office don't want to spend money, which one is it.

When in sept do the guys get the call up. I cant wai tto see maybin dallas and a few other guys.

HaHa, I know it!

Yea, Caboose is pretty amazing!

we need someone who doesn't strike out and gets on base.

Huff: .303 BA, 63 SO, and .360 OBP

Jacobs: .245 BA, 85 SO, and .289 OBP

McPherson: .299 BA,129 SO, and .409 OBP

it doesn't matter if someone strike out alot as long as they get on base but i think that mcpherson is doing so well because of the minor league pitching and the home stadium. out of the 3 i'd take huff because he has the lowest strike out total and the highest batting average and has proven he can hit major league pitching which we don't know that mcpherson can do.
