God, who are you people talking about Sanchez like he's over the hill? He's 24 years old. Get a grip. I don't know how to break the news to you but in baseball players have productive careers into their late thirties and even dare I say it into their forties. You may think life is over at 25 but you're sadly mistaken.

24 years old?!?! Bah, he hasn't produced anything in his career yet, just like that other grandfather, Hermida. Waive them both.

Speaking of Willie Glen...he's an interesting option in relief, for September.

With that said, I'm surprised he's in AA. Usually, journeymen over 30 are put in AAA...and the younger "elite prospects" are the guys in AA.

But he's having a very good year.

I'd like to see what he can do in AAA, though...

Glen is mentoring the staff in AA.

And 2003, the issue isn't that, at 24, Gaby doesn't have a future. What people are saying is that he's always been old for his level, a.k.a., he has both a physical and experienced advantage over the competition. Anybody who is decent will put up a good stat line when they're old for their level. So, people aren't saying he's horrible, just that you can't put too much stock into his numbers.

although I don't think 24 in AA is bad. Sure, for a superstar that isn't good. But we're talking about a guy who probably becomes a league average player, and that's VERY valueable for a small market team, and for that, 24 in AA isn't bad at all.

I couldn't sleep either. Lol.

Additionally, the Marlns don't use their AAA affiliate the way many teams do. Talent is kept at the AA level where most of the development takes place. That Mudcats team is awesome, truly, listening to their games gives you an appreciation for how rich our talent pool is there.

BTW Maybin is progressing nicely.

I still think Carlos Martinez is an option given his stuff, experience and the fact that he is on the 40-man roster.

wow i just saw that carlos martinez gained 30 lbs from 07-08!!! he definently looks heavier!
