Rules for participating in the fall league are as follows: ? All Triple-A and Double-A players are eligible provided they are on Double-A rosters no later than August 6. ? One player below the Double-A level is allowed. ? Foreign players are allowed as long as the player is not on his native country?s protected player list. ? No players with more than two years of credited Major League service as of August 31 (including Major League disabled list time) are eligible except a team may select one player picked in the most recently concluded Major League Rule 5 draft. ? To be eligible, players on Minor League disabled lists must be activated at least 45 days before the conclusion of their respective seasons. ? Each team is allotted 20 pitchers but only 15 are designated ?eligible? each game day. August 27, 200817 yr I always enjoy the AFL - looking forward to seeing what Raynor is about also hoping they do a young stars showcase type game again this year - they tried it out a couple years ago and it was pretty neat always surprised about the lack of attendence for the AFL - great value baseball, although some games get a bit cold

It's make or break in September. What fascinating is th at two-thirds of the people at AFL are scouts and talent evaluators for other teams. Doolittle and Mobley have been lights out in Carolina this season and big reasons they're headed to the playoffs. I wonder if Mobley gets a call after the playoffs and Doolittle goes to the AFL?

August 28, 200817 yr Raynor has nothing more to gain from AA. He is MLB ready. something to agree too ,He is MLB ready but Marlins won't start his clock before they have to ,3 years to arbitration

In the onlly manner that would not occur if he doent win a starting job
August 28, 200817 yr Surprised no Sanchez, I like sending Morrison, Cousins and Raynor. Sanchez went to AFL in 2006 Thats right I forgot about that. Still I hope he plays winter ball somewhere, should be interesting to see the battle between him and Morrison for 1b in 2010.
August 29, 200817 yr Dallas (Trahern) was going to go but then it was mutually decided he would go ahead and have the "procedure" (same one from Spring Training) on his pitching thumb as soon as the season is over so he can be ready for Spring Training.

Between Raynor and Cousins, one of the two may easily make the parent club outta ST, Raynor maybe bein the closest in area of readiness
