That's not true.

Gregg said he was letting his teammates down, just last night.

I don't recall Jorge Julio ever saying he "sucked."

And unlike Gregg, Julio was actually the worst reliever in baseball, in his time here.

1-2, 12.54 ERA.

He had 2 blown saves...to 1 save.

He allowed 18 hits and 11 walks, in 9.1 innings. He allowed 14 runs (13 earned) in those 9.1 innings. 2 of the 18 hits, were HR's.

There's no comparison.

Jorge Julio is my least favorite Marlin of all-time.

It's ended up being the worst move Beinfest ever made, imo.

yea he was the worst marlin ever

and he isnt even in the majors anymore

but i think the worst move was trading piazza after like a week as a marlin and he became a marlin killer with the muts

Well, everyone knew Piazza was a couple days rental. + Beinfest wasn't the GM, at that time.

yea please go on the DL

Yeah...b/c making the bullpen worse + decreasing his trade value by not pitching anymore this year, is something this team really needs.

Do you think his trade value will increase by constantly blowing saves?

Do you not think he's capable of getting a couple more? I mean, it's not impossible. He does have 29, this year. As a matter of fact, even if a reliever sucks, odds are he'll get more saves, than blown saves. It's not the hardest thing in the world. Some are just better at it, than others.

Regardless...Gregg has still been one of the better relievers on the team, this year (overall). So, I don't see why everyone is so happy and giddy.

Beacuse hes costing us the playoffs man

hes blown more saves than ever as of late and thats even worse considering we cant win 2 games in a row anymore

The team is costing us games, not just one player. Errors, leaving RISP with less than 2 outs, Ks...the list goes on. Making Gregg the scapegoat for this season is simply unfair. I have never been as big a Gregg fan like those of you that were calling him Superman not that long ago. But you still don't single one guy out on a TEAM and start pointing fingers and placing blame for an entire season.

I bet if Gregg saved his last 3 games that knee would be fine and dandy, just another fake injury to give them a reason to call someone up from AAA.

There wasn't a call up. Gregg stays in the pen to rest that knee. Will pitch in relief after the inflammation goes down for the time being. And he is too young to be the man on the grassy knoll.

That was a pretty selfish attitude Gregg displayed in that article about his hurt knee. He finally decided that he was hurting the club by pitching with a bad knee. He's hurt the club so bad because he's wanted to pad his stats and now the Marlins are on the verge of being out of play-off contention. Thanks Kevin for being a team player.

He's not really hurt, though. That's the thing...

We are going to disagree there. I think there is some inflamation. It's a problem he has dealt with in the past. He's a tough guy and tries to work through some injuries. This time it did hurt the team, but the team also let him down a couple times as well.

I have no problem seeing what Lindstrom and Nelson can do. Like Erick, I was never a fan of Gregg in the closer role. More of a middle reliever type pitcher. But I would like to see Lindstrom use that slider a bit more. Lately his only "off speed" stuff is a 95mph fastball. That isn't going to cut it.

LOL And let's not forget that Piazza was working on throwing to 2B and could get it there on just two bounces. He was a catcher because, um, well, um....I don't know why he was ever a catcher. He was always a 1B that just dressed up like a catcher.

Seems to have worked just fine over his last 23 or so innings. ERA under 1.00.

Gregg is no good teammate. He's an idiot! If I was a Marlins player I would be pissed off that this guy ruined my chances at a playoff run!!!!! :thumbdown

Im surprised to see that no one is angry with the fact that the team(I cant believe that they didnt know about his knee) LET him close games knowing he wasnt at 100% same goes for Gregg continuing to pitch... they cost themselves a legitimate chance to compete if this(the injury) is true.

I'm not mad b/c I believe the injury is BS.

Still, doesnt that annoy you a little?
