Gregg shut down with infalmation of the knee

and the only way to get consistency is to get some practice in game time situations, u are not going to get better sitting on the bench. I'm not sayin he is our future closer, it is just time to give him a shot, we have nothing to lose.

I do not see the great think about Kensing. He and Nate Bump are basically the same guy imo. They are future minor leaguers that come in once in a while to pitch the 6th-7th inning in blowouts.

He is getting game time situations...as a setup man. He has done well since being called back up, for what it's worth.

As far as Kensing and Bump...two totally different pitchers. Bump was a sinkerballer; Kensing is a strikeout pitcher.

set up just isn't the same. U do not have the mentality of "this is the last out" there is not the same pressure, a good Closer has a great amount of confidence and composure, we need to see Lindstrom in the closer role to see if he has the composure and confidence to close out games in 2009

I think he meant to say that they equally suck.

i think the injury is total BS...its just a cover up so that people dont realize how sh*tty Kevin Gregg really is...no wonder ive always hated superman

no duh, I think Erick understood it, I believe

I think he's wrong, though.

Kensing has a 94-95 mph fastball, and a nice tight slider. Like Lindstrom...except Lindstrom throws 100.

He has good stuff; just hasn't really panned out, yet.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? :mis2

I did understand it. I just disagree with him. Can't believe you couldn't comprehend that, though. Nice try.

I know how u LOVE whip so much, so i will throw it around a little but

U make fun of Lindstrom for his whip, yet Kensing has a 1.52 WHIP, not horrible, but just not that good. He has given up 7 HR's in 49 IP, not that great. He has walked 30 people this year, just not major league material

Rob Nenn is more reliable than Kevin Gregg

Rob Nenn was a great closer, stupid comment imo.

Geez Erick, i'm just messing with you. Maybe one of these days you can invite me to play polo with you and your rich friends. :lol

No, a 1.52 WHIP is not good, period.

Neither is every other stat you mentioned.

However, if Lindstrom has "potential," as you say...you can't say Kensing doesn't. Kensing has K'd a batter per inning, better opponents .avg, better WHIP. And he's 2 years younger.

So that wouldn't make sense to say one has potential, and the other (who's younger) doesn't.

The only thing about Kensing is that he hangs that good slider he has...way more often. Hence the 7 HR's in 49 innings.

So either kevin gregg sucks and he's making excuses, which to be fair, he hasn't really made excuses for himself before, or he's mediocre and he played through an injury at the expense of the marlins. Either way, freddi is an a hole for using him after he consistently sucked balls, and kevin gregg might be an a hole for playing through an injury. Bottom line, he needs to be removed from closer, maybe when he heals he can be a middle relief guy.

You've seemed to have thought this since I started posting here...however, I'm far from rich (and my friends are from it, as well). :lol

That was a pretty selfish attitude Gregg displayed in that article about his hurt knee. He finally decided that he was hurting the club by pitching with a bad knee. He's hurt the club so bad because he's wanted to pad his stats and now the Marlins are on the verge of being out of play-off contention. Thanks Kevin for being a team player.

He's not really hurt, though. That's the thing...

'Tis the season for fake injuries.

I see four gold dubloons under that avatar. Are you hiding something?

I didn't think he was, all in all that's messed up what he's done.

Im surprised to see that no one is angry with the fact that the team(I cant believe that they didnt know about his knee) LET him close games knowing he wasnt at 100% same goes for Gregg continuing to pitch... they cost themselves a legitimate chance to compete if this(the injury) is true.

I'm not mad b/c I believe the injury is BS.
