September 8, 200817 yr Uggla isn't (imo) in the top 5 2b in baseball (counting defense as well) okay just for kicks who's the 5 (or however many 2B) ahead of him? The only category I think Uggla is considered to be in the Top 5 is in power. Overall hitting he might be in the Top 10. Fielding I don't think he's even in the Top 10. Overall hitting, Uggla is a top 5 2B. Top 3, at worst, actually.

September 8, 200817 yr Uggla isn't (imo) in the top 5 2b in baseball (counting defense as well) okay just for kicks who's the 5 (or however many 2B) ahead of him? In no specific order: Kinsler, Pedroia, Utley, DeRosa, Cano, Hudson I don't know enough about Brian Roberts defense to put him in there
September 8, 200817 yr DeRosa? The utility player having a career year? DeRosa's career OPS+ is 98. I'd take Uggla over him, anyday. Unless if you're looking for a utility player who can play several positions well, and provide a solid bat (compared to other utility players)...
September 8, 200817 yr I'm with Erick on this one, not sure how to put a guy having his first pretty good season in 12 years in the league over Uggla.
September 8, 200817 yr I don't know, his 2 previous year prior to this season he had a .790 and a .813. But yea, that was a bad call on my part.
September 8, 200817 yr well, his plus/minus the past several years 2003: +16 (5th best) 2004: -2 (20, bad year) 2005: +18 (6th) 2006: +8 (10th) 2007: -1 (?) So a few years ago he was one of the better ones. He fell off to a little above average two years ago, about average last year. Going via RZR/OOZ, he's doing a little better than last year, so probably average to slightly above average. (also props for calling a bad call a bad call rather than trying to defend a bad call to the death)
