September 3, 200818 yr Author remember in 2006 when we called everyone up everybody said "lets wait 2 years from now we will keep all these players together and be a championship team" now u are ready to bail when we are so close to being a playoff team? Ur crazy if u want to start rebuilding AGAIN in al honesty i never thought hanley was gonn abe as good i thought jake was gonna bt 300 with 30 HR and Uggla was just another attemot to replace Castillo but jake isnt putting up great numbers hes on pace to hit 250 31 HR and 89 RBI's and this is considered one of his best years Cabbrera is having he worst year and still hits 290 and has 300 HR 100 RBI what is this supposed to prove? that u can't spell? also, Everybody forgets Jacobs has missed over 20 games this year, that's an extra 5-7 home runs right there. that means u are all willing to get rid of a 40 HR guy./ 1. Thats a low blow 2. It not rebuilding 3. Jake lacks defense and OBp

Ur crazy if u want to start rebuilding AGAIN yeh but at that point we probably didnt expect cabrera and willis to be traded away to detroit but then u see we bring in a guy who has just as good of a season as Cabrera in Cantu, and Willis just showed everyone what happens when a pitcher is overused too early in his career. I feel we are in just a good position to make the playoffs next year, especially with the mets getting older and the Phillies still in need of Starting Pitching. Remember anything can happen come the playoffs, any team can win it all, we have the pieces to do it 1. Cabrera is now having a far superior year to Cantu in that hes hitting about .290, has 31 homers and i think 109 RBI now 2. Im not dissing Cantu cos i have been pleasantly suprised by his production this year 3. I agree with u on the point that we are in a good position to make the playoffs next year
September 3, 200818 yr Mets win, did not make up any ground, We had a chance to really slow them up with a series win and gregg f'd it up but their on a roll now adn their confience must be sky high hopefully that lead to some cockyness and then their demise again. Man i dotn want them to win the DIV. Come on Philly.
September 3, 200818 yr Fredi for finally batting Baker 2nd. Keep him there. dont hold me to this but im 99% sure Baker has batted 2nd in at least 1 game already this year

His terrible defense, low OBP, and strike outs what makes me hate him.

So we are willing to get rid of a 37 HR guy who happens to be a 32 WALK guy.

We lose power in the middle of the lineup and add a .275 10 HR 65 RBI with around 12 Errors for the season, I do not see that as an improvement

Especially given Gaby just won an MVP award and was named the best defensive 1B in the Southern League.
September 4, 200818 yr Again, Minor League stats do NOT equal major league success They don't equal major league failure either. Also, can you contest the defense? He was terrible as a 3rd baseman but was named the best defensive 1st baseman.

We will have to wait and see what happens, we can argue until the sun goes down and spring training begins, neither of us will know the truth until the new season 2009

Already, hes an upgrade.

September 4, 200818 yr Author John Raynor has a great shot at a starting spot next year. not unless we gett rid of cody or hermida or both
September 5, 200818 yr John Raynor has a great shot at a starting spot next year. True, but id prefer to keep him as a 4th outfielder just for next season.
