Post Game 9/3

Featured Replies

Very good win for the fish today. I hate to see them come up with bases loaded with one out. Last night and this afternoon they (marlins hitters) have gone 0-6 with bases loaded. With hits the games aren't even close! However, I am an optimist and I'm glad they won! GO MARLINS!!!

Lets hope for two in a row, the mets are leading 6-1, can't pick up a game

Fredi Gonzalez for bringing in Andrew Miller in the 8th inning, and sticking with him, even after the leadoff walk.

Everytime Fredi gives a young / new guy the ball, he should be the Fish of the Game, whether the Fish win it or lose it.

The team is out of contention...I want to see what some other guys have to offer.

So it was great to see Miller given a chance in the 8th, today.

I would've loved to have seen someone else get the 9th...

That's why this September is actually pretty exciting. Newer guys are going to be given a chance. De La Cruz, for example, might get his in St.Louis. Never know...that's why I watch (even though, I could not today, since I was in school).

to think we could have swept them...

coud say this about a lot of series this season, but, well we didnt

thats the way things go at times in this silly game

to think we could have swept them...

To think that if it wasn't for a last minute walkoff, we could have lost the series.

It goes both ways.

we are already out imo. We needed to sweep that last Atlanta series to stay in the race, but we failed. If we keep this team together we have a lot to look forward to in 09

can u please not screw with my quotes, i meant what i said. This team is playoff caliber in the crappy NL. Keeping everyone together for another year (add a maybin) and we are good for a playoff season

no we cant afford every1

willingham has had bad number and i kno its because of his back so he has to go

jake will part ways if he dosent get his money in abritration

Ole is good and i like him but hes gone 2 make room for andrew

Lo Duca is a big ?

Gonzo is gone and likely onna retire at the age of 41

Wes is also gone because were not gonna pay him 3.75 mill

Uggla is 50 50 i wanna keep him but its the money he wants that might make him leave aswell

but look at the replacements for the people leaving

Willingham- Maybin

Jake- Gaby

Duca- who ever we get for jake or Olsen

Gonzo- Raynor

Wes- Dallas

Uggla- Coghlan

we look good next year with our rotation we might be a contender

but we definatley will be in 2010

Yeah if the pitchers stay healthy and we keep the every one but jake in terms of pos players were good i think.

Raynor is not ready to be called up just yet, u can't have another all rookie team. Gaby is overhyped imo. Lo Duca will stay for veteran minimum, and Olsen is gone, Jacobs is most likely staying just because of lack of other trade offers, wait till the trade deadline when teams are in need of a DH,Coughlen is not an upgrade over Uggla. Maybin is not replacing Willingham, he is replacing Cody Ross, who will in turn replace Willingham

we are already out imo. We needed to sweep that last Atlanta series to stay in the race, but we failed. If we keep this teams Fielders and starting pitchers together we have a lot to look forward to in 09

better be sooner as in 2009

remember in 2006 when we called everyone up everybody said "lets wait 2 years from now we will keep all these players together and be a championship team" now u are ready to bail when we are so close to being a playoff team? Ur crazy if u want to start rebuilding AGAIN

yeh but at that point we probably didnt expect cabrera and willis to be traded away to detroit

but then u see we bring in a guy who has just as good of a season as Cabrera in Cantu, and Willis just showed everyone what happens when a pitcher is overused too early in his career. I feel we are in just a good position to make the playoffs next year, especially with the mets getting older and the Phillies still in need of Starting Pitching. Remember anything can happen come the playoffs, any team can win it all, we have the pieces to do it

in al honesty i never thought hanley was gonn abe as good i thought jake was gonna bt 300 with 30 HR and Uggla was just another attemot to replace Castillo

but jake isnt putting up great numbers hes on pace to hit 250 31 HR and 89 RBI's and this is considered one of his best years

Cabbrera is having he worst year and still hits 290 and has 300 HR 100 RBI

o and how is it rebuilding if we only add 2 maybe 3 people to start in the field and 1 pitching (if miller is considered a rookie still)

I did. Especially that there was no indication that Miggie wanted to stay here past 2009.

what is this supposed to prove? that u can't spell?

also, Everybody forgets Jacobs has missed over 20 games this year, that's an extra 5-7 home runs right there. that means u are all willing to get rid of a 40 HR guy./

Jake can go and ill let josh, duca, gonzo. olsen, GREGG and wes go to but i want uggla. I dont want error city up the middle with coghlan and hanley and hanley onlys get away with it cause hes a beast at the plate which coghlan isnt, I can already see people ripping coghlan next year if he makes around 20 errors and barley hits 300 which i doubt he does at this level with maybe 8 homers. If hes gonna make tons of errors at 2nd he better hit like hanley, utley or super Dan.

so Cabrera is so good now he gets minus RBI for homers! wow
