Gregg would like to close again

Gregg sets up

Now back from a knee injury, Kevin Gregg wants to return to being a closer. Matt Lindstrom made his case for that role while Gregg was out. Gregg, who pitched a scoreless seventh inning in his return Tuesday and again Friday, "needs to go out there a couple more times, make sure that the knee is going to hold up," Gonzalez said. "And then we'll cross that bridge when we get there."

Kevin Gregg closing again, I can see it happening again, then he will come back, have a couple of good saves in a row, then he will blow a bunch of games in a row, then he will leave with a magical injury, and Lindstrom will come in and close out more games. For some reason Fredi doesn't like the word COMMON SENSE. Sadly i do see him giving Gregg the job back, then we use Tucker next season as closer, hopefully

Highly unlikely this happens, regardless of what Fredi says. It would take a blown save from Lindstrom.

Small sample size and all...Lindstrom has had 3 save opportunities, has saved all 3, and has not allowed a single baserunner in his 3 saves.

So I doubt Fredi makes the move right now. He's just trying to protect his players, and keep things in-house, imo.

I see what u mean, Fredi is a "what have u done for me lately" kind of manager. If u are good, u play. If u are slumping (aka Hermida) u either get demoted or get benched. I hope he keeps Gregg as a middle reliever where he should be.

I think it's just drama to keep us entertained. Everyone knows the '08 Marlins like drama. :)

very true, even when we have 10-0 leads, they manage to turn it into an 11-10 deficit within 2 innings

and when we are down 6 runs in the 9th, we promise u we will score all 6 we need
