Just wondering...isn't it supposed to be an automatic 1st down once you throw your helmet on the field?

no, it was after the play. Same situation as unsportsmanlike conduct penalties

The call was a dead-ball foul after the play was over. So, no first down for the Niners.

Alright, thanks. I was unsure of that one.

But the "delay of game" call should have been made... negating the sack... C'est las vie

Yeah, the clock hit 0.

At any rate, the Dolphins D is quietly impressive. They haven't allowed a TD in 3 weeks.

But the "delay of game" call should have been made... negating the sack... C'est las vie

Just lucky I guess. :)

That said, with some of the questionable calls against us, I feel justified.

The pass interference call in the middle of the 4th, and many other calls did not go the Dolphins way.

I only saw the last couple minutes of the game; that's why I ask.

He pushed off with both hands.

It dosent matter he had the sack and he celebrated after the play.

It was a great game though tough to belive Carpenter missed that FG in the 4th that would have seeled the deal but way to go Defense holding them to just FG

Who cares about that Porter stupid move he came up big in the "last" play of the game.

But the guy covering him had both hands on him at the time. Even the commentators said it should have been called defensive interference.

that FG would've only made it a 7 point game :mis2

No, it would have made it an 8 point game Fins won 14-9 with a FG it would have made it 17 -9

Yeah, but I can let that one go, Carpenter has been pretty damn good.

Our defense is really stepping up, but we got to start scoring some more points.

While it probably shouldn't have been called because both sides were guilty, our receiver wasn't innocent. That was my point.

Its assessed on the following play, considering it was not an interruption to the play which caused the turnover. Dead ball.

And no, the 49ers got the snap off on time. It was right as the clock struck 0 the ball was snapped.

There was pretty much a second between the clock going to zero, then the snap

Are you so much a homer that the replay with the ball in the center's hand and the clock at 0 doesn't convince you that there should have been a penalty?

I never understood why there isn't a buzzer for the play clock like there is in the NBA. To expect the referee to watch both the clock and the snap of the ball at the same time when a simple buzzer can do the job is pretty ridiculous. Anyway, when your coach's excuse is that his team should have been penalized to negate a sack, you don't deserve another chance. I see his point obviously, but still....

Anyway, Go Fins!

I hate people like you.

Just thought I'd say that.

How am I being a homer if I am a Dolphins fan siding with the 49ers getting the snap off? Right...

They called hike. At the split 0 second. They hiked the ball in time. They did not delay the game. Period. Joey Porter got his penalty for throwing his helmet. A deadball penalty. Period.

The refs may have gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it was split seconds, and the refs are not clocks. They can only go by what they visually see. As stated above me, its illogical for a teams coach to try to make the argument that his team should have been penalized negating a sack. The refs may or may not have given the 49ers the benefit, whatever, though its not something you can argue.

If someone gives you $5 randomly, are you going to go back to them and say you want $10? Are you going to expect $10? Exactly.

I hate people like you.

A) Because it benefited you... not saying you are or aren't, but yeah...

B) Period? Really... because you're the only one absolute in that... Nobody else is denying it, and nobody's being vilified for it... the Dolphins got lucky on THAT call, get over it, it happens... not everything is skill-based
