I was just wondering what you guys were envisioning from him this year as far as a role? With the Proctor signing how many are on the 40 man as well?

Unless I counted wrong there are only 39 names on the 40 man roster right now.

For myself, I have no idea what to expect from either pitcher except the front office found something in each of them they thought would could help the team. And when say I have no idea what that is, I mean it in the literal sense, I don't know...like who knew what to expect from Lee Gardner or Nelson or any of these guys they find and get a year or so out of?

AAA starter is my guess.

Coming up as a starter if somebody gets injured/underperforms although I have to assume that the likes of RVH, Trahern, and even Badenhop have a leg up on him although it obviously depends on how they perform next season in the minors.

And coming up for for the BP for same things (injury/underperformance) but that likely only happens if something happens to Pinto or the other lefty.

who?? :lol

Rule V guy I think.

Maybe he could be a lefty reliever in the bullpen...

That was the initial plan when we signed him if I remember correctly. At least to provide a lefty option for the pen rather than a lock for a spot

It's beginning to look more and more like Tank will be used as a specialist instead of his initial role. If he even makes the team out of ST. He'll get every opportunity in ST to prove himself. Partly because he does a fantastic job guarding the pitchers warming up in the pen during those home games in Jupiter.

j/k on that last part. But anyone that goes to the games in Jupiter knows he is one of the first to jump up and fill that job. Any time I see Tank up and walking I always say we are about to have a pitcher warming up.

He was always viewed as a potential starter but he hasn't been able to deliver in that role so he 'll have to prove himself in the pen at least for now.
