I just wanna know why baseball is all about money! It's not about "the team", the friendship, the loyalty, the fun! Why? Why are all of these players so damn greedy and want more money??? How much more money does Pudge want? :( He has plenty!!! I would be happy if I only got half a million a year! That's not what baseball is all about! :( I don't know, it just makes me sad! They are supposed to be a team!

yea i know-its a shame

Pudge has enough money-so he should take less money and stay on the marlins and live with his fam.!

Andy Pettitte is in a similar situation as Pudge is, where he is being pressured to take more money and stay with the Yankees, rather than go to Houston where he can be with his family. The more money a player earns in a contract, the more money the agents get.

2 million could buy how many houses and cars??? Not right! Some players make way more than that... and not like they make that much money period... they make that much money per season!!! Pudge lives in a MANSION he has plenty to support his family, and plenty to buy anything in the world that he wants, that goes for many other players too! Actually all players cuz even 1 million per season is alot! I just don't understand why!!! :confused

In their world, the players consider a million a year a bad salary. That's just how they think. Not sure what caused that though...

it really is a contest....players get in their mind that whoever makes the most means that's whoever is worth the most...therefore, whoever is worth the most, is the best. It's gay, but hey, thats the way it is. It sucks.

its really sad when people take more money to be on a horrible team-when they could have been on a great team for just a little less amount of money.

That sparks a new question.

Imagine how many more world series they could win if they stick with this team! Imagine the moments they can make, the history, the memories! Why would they wanna destroy that!? It's just stupid! And sad! All it takes is patience and teamwork, all that they see is money!

I can only imagine who you're referring to.... ;)

yea-they played so well this year-and they looked so happy-and yet they still want to leave.

We still don't yet know if Pudge is staying or not. If he decides to look elsewhere, I would put some blame against Scott Boras, the evil man he is. I keep hearing about agents and the Players' Union pressuring free agents to take the most money, no matter what.

Sometimes, players may feel they've "done it all" for one team, reached the pinnacle, you know? So they want a challenge and go to a team that needs thier help to win.

Oh yeah- and money.

I realize it's rough to see this happen, especially when you're not numb to it as most sports fans become. Maybe you're young & haven't seen this yet, or just aren't used to it. Sure it sucks, but people are free to do what they think is best for them & their families.

Does a player owe a team anything? Debatable. Does a player owe a town anything? Doubtful. Does a player owe his hometown fans anything?

The sooner you get used to this, the better.

uve never done enough for 1 team-if everything was so easy-then how come the yanks cant win the WS every year with all the money they have?

notings 2 easy.

I don't like that idea. I don't know, for once i really look up to a team, and now they might be gone! :-( it hurts.

if we had alot of money like the yanks-we wouldnt have 2 worry about not being able 2 keep players bc we dont have enough money.

Yea, but it shouldn't be about that. If the players weren't so greedy then we wouldn't have to worry about that either.
