Remember, if games only went 8 innings:

Featured Replies

Totally agree that things could be worse. I am not panicking, but a little worried. The glass half empty side of my fandom is asking: are we a great team that caught some bad breaks (i.e. we are the 11-6 team), or a good team that caught some lucky breaks (the what-if team of 9-8)? Are we going to be upper tier this year, or middle tier?

Well, I saw someone say something ridiculous like "If games went 8 innings we would be 13-4!", which is obviously not true. I'm just trying to show that we've stolen more than have let go.

Remember, if games were only played against teams NOT named the Washington Nationals

This team would be under .500.

That's a bit deceiving because before the Pittsburgh series the Marlins took a series from the Mets and swept Atlanta IN ATLANTA (for the first time ever). This recent rough stretch is because the Marlins have been playing worse.

I HATE when folk say our record taking out the games against the Nats is....

Agreed Washington isnt very good, but its still a ML team that needs to be played 18 times a year.

Obviously it is highly unlikely but if we went say, 15-3 against either the Braves or the Mets, would people then say the Marlins are only....without games played against those teams?

Exactly. We beat the Nationals, like we should. And we are playing well against our divisional opponents named the Phillies.

that ture RAB we were losing in 8 in Nationals until 9 innng that would have us losing those game

Wow.... :shifty :shifty

Good observation Rab. I like your way of thinking. It is a long season and I believe one win will propel us into a winning streak gaining confidence. Baseball is often a game of momentum and breaks. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten those on this losing streak. It will turn around and the bullpen will pull it together IMO. It's like a bad storm; you just have to take cover and wait until it passes. This team will be fine like most of us on here know.

He already typed it, it's too late
