At home plate will be the flags of Miami-Dade County, City of Miami and the Florida Marlins. First base will be marked with the flag of lead-architect, Populous. At second base will be the flag of the United States of America and at third will be the flag of the project's construction manager, Hunt/ Moss, a joint venture. The flags will also be illuminated at night and home plate, the bases and base lines are painted to form a baseball diamond.

I went by this morning and took a couple of pics with my cell phone. They're not great but it gives you an idea.

I thought the Polls go up after they build the stadium, what are the polls for, to mark out an area? or for design.

I believe Tommy said today that the flags are located exactly where the bases will be on the diamond!

This. It is purely for visualization purposes.

The article also says the basepaths are painted.

We are considering taking a Sunday cruise this week end. Do the tourist thing.

Don't bother. You won't see much more than what you see in the pictures above. For now, its really not worth a trip.

Took your advice for now. But I would still like to make a Sunday trip to the area just to see how long it would take on a basically traffic free day from my house to there. We normall arrive early on Sundays now, so it would at least give us some idea. And for us, time is going to be a big factor. We've already resigned ourselves to the fact we won't be able to make week day games. But we will keep our season tix and sell those tix on StubHub, or something.
